Title: Ladder Tutorial (WC)
Post by: bug on May 29, 2006, 06:07:22 PM
This is a WorldCraft tutorial.

Many will not need this, but due to the spammy AOL plea of a certain mentally-challenged 10 year old (of which I will not name), I felt I would make this. The link is to a ZIP file containing an 800x600 AVI movie and an example .BSP map illustrating the use of ladders.

Extra mapping notes:
When making a brush a ladder, the ladder property must be applied TO THE WHOLE BRUSH, applying it to a single face will not work.

Download it here (http://www.uploadtemple.com/view.php/1148946872.zip) or here (http://66.169.178.110:1647/downloads/ladder.zip).

Bug,  Why would you catch feelings from a 10 year old and seem to get really upset about it?  You could've worded your beginning post a little better.  You should of known that it was gonna turn into a flame fest thread.  Come on

Vinnie, I usually use bsp, but I have worldcraft so..

Make a new brush that you will slice to make your slanted one:

Then select your brush and click on the clip button on the left:

Now click somewhere on your brush, this is where you will start cutting your brush:

Then click on that dot and drag to the place where you want to finish cutting:

Now just hit enter and you have a slanted brush, great huh?

Vinne: Please use the "Modify" link instead of making new posts. It's rude to make multiple posts in a row.

bug: That was way out of line.  Enjoy your temp ban.

Qoo:  Thanks for the illustrations, but could you specify the image sizes so they load properly?  Images load as 640x480 unless you specify the width and height, like so:
Code: [Select]

Yeah, sure, just not used to using SMF

Well, it's not required by default, but I modified it to require image sizes, because I always hate it when it takes forever for a thread to load because it's loading some off-site images.
