some reason i opened up pb2 today and it open just didnt show.i took a screenshot to show you what i mean:

Reboot PC, may be opengl or sound system error (look on taskbar). If this doesn't help try reseting config & reinstalling.

i did reboot and it did the same thing thats when i said " i tried that" was no errors on taskbar.but i was going to reinstall.i tried again maybe 10-20 minutes later and seemed to work. My thought was maybe it had a spaz when i alt+tabbed out.

There should be a button "print screen" on your keyboard. Press it, open paint and paste it in.

Same problem, except I have done everything(uninstalled, restarted comp, ended task and restart 1000000x) and it still is like that. PLEASE HELP D:

try using cccleaner and shut down ur computer and restart

One issue = one topic. Please post more informations so we can be sure what problem it is.

Try deleting or renaming your paintball2/pball/configs/config.cfg and see if it starts up. Maybe the video settings got messed up.

I do suggest you the following things;
Reboot your PC.
Re-install Paintball ( Newest build )
Run the program as admin ( Right click, second option )
If windows xp; right click, last option and then click on ''Compability'', Then click on the ''Run this program in this compability mode''
Click windows 98/ windows me
If windows 7 ; run it on windows 2000

config.cfg is automatically generated when you exit the game. It saves your settings. If you haven't successfully run and closed the game, it won't create it. That should not cause any issues.
When you run the game, the paintball2.exe process is running, but the window doesn't open? Do you have multiple displays? Is it possible the window opened on another monitor or something? What video card do you have. Have you tried updating the drivers?

in order: no, the video doesn't open. i have only one display, so, is not possible the window is opened in another monitor. my video card is Intel hd graphics 64 bits. and my drivers are up to date.
ps: when i open the game, my computer start being slow ( all the other processes don't run properly)

tie up your computer like a piñata, and hit it with a large stick. Might fix your problem.

pauloex: go and get ccleaner clean then open it up and do run then delete or whatever it is. then restart your computer. then when you get back to the desktop open paintball should be the same thing happening. then spam the icon at the bottom until it decides to open. Its somewhere along the lines of that fixed it. (this is for windows 7).
whats your i forgot what its caled. but its windows 7, linux, mac, xp etc.

Unfortunately, those Intel cards don't always play nice. I'm guessing you have a laptop? You might just be out of luck. Are you able to play any other OpenGL games (Quake 3, Warsaw, Alien Arena, etc.)?

yeah, i have a laptop, i dont have these games, but my cs 1.6 is played with openGL

Interestingly got same problem on my PC when I ran game from the pinned icon

Now it doesn't open even by using normal icon

Is it not opening, or is it opening with the window off screen? If the icon is in the task bar, you might be able to shift+right click on it, then select move and move it back on screen.

it is opening with the ding sound that happens when game starts.But nothing appears on the screen

Ding sound? Sounds like a windows message is popping up. There's not normally a ding sound.

Sorry i was young and dumb when i posted this. Sorry i still remember it. It loads it just the window isnt there. So its something to do with the window itself.

It is the sound just like that happens when game starts not windows 1. I get it everytime i open dp2 even before the glitch started to happen

Is the game still taking input? If you type:
~quit
Does it close it? If so, maybe typing one of these might fix it:
gl_mode 3
vid_fullscreen 1

yes it takes input but still not working it just refreshed the game. I even used vid_restart but still not working

delete config.cfg :) failing that, get ccleaner, clear window location cache :)

would the advanced system care work well??

Maybe try "vid_fullscreen 0" if it was in fullscreen before.

well I deleted my config and the game ran
Then I reput my config again
And VOILA!!! The game is still running with all my old configs :)
Maybe this would help many more people
