Title: Removing certain in-game sound effects
Post by: Westy on June 22, 2012, 08:09:24 AM
Hi Guys,

I've recently downloaded this game and i really enjoy it. However one thing that keeps bugging me is the silly/stupid sound effects such as "Oh my god"! when being hit and all the other ones such as the screaming etc. I find myself getting frustrated with it and not wanting to carry on playing.

However because its a good game, i don't want the stupid sounds to get in the way of the enjoyable game play.

If there's anyway i can stop them playing or turn them off can someone let me know!

Many Thanks

Ali

1. Go to your paintball sound folder (c:/games/paintball2/pball/sound/) and delete the files, you don't want.
2. Go ingame to "Setup -> Multiplayer Setup" and uncheck the "Sounds" checkbox.

Will this allow to still hear sounds such as the gun etc?

If you don't delete the gun sounds yes.

You can also substitute your own sounds.

You can also substitute your own sounds.
Just keep in mind that modifying certain sound files will trigger modified content warning and you can get banned if you play ignoring this message. But i think modifying death sounds is okay.
