I use a custom crosshair and I don't bother with fov, I bound my "mouse4" button to "impulse101", so I just use that.

I use the following:

FOV: 110
Crosshair: 3

And changing your FOV is not considered as cheating.

Perhaps he was referring to the fact that many aimbots/etc need very low fovs to operate?

I'm not a hacker, I swear! I heard people talking about it in a server, that's the only reason I know this!

Increasing your fov makes it easier to adjust to aiming dead-on at your target, he must get sniped a lot to call it cheating.

I zoom and i use it quite a bit, but fov 10 for zoom. ..thats pushing it, fov 60 and 40 work great.
Title: Re: crosshair
Post by: jitspoe on June 26, 2006, 04:53:17 PM
If you zoom too much, the balls land beneath the screen, making it kind of pointless for aiming.
Title: Re: crosshair
Post by: F3AR on June 26, 2006, 04:55:05 PM
which is why i use 60 and 40.

im pretty sure 10 isint possible to aim with.

*off to try it   -   and your balls land of screen if you actually want to see what you looking at.

pball/pics/ch#.pcx or tga.

Then type "crosshair #" at the console.  Replace # with a number, if that wasn't obvious.

Title: Re: crosshair
Post by: Eiii on June 27, 2006, 12:41:08 PM
Then make one. ch#.pcx/tga, and type 'crosshair #' at the console.
Title: Re: crosshair
Post by: bitmate on June 27, 2006, 12:46:09 PM
Make some uber gfx and save it as ch<numberhere>.pcx or ch<numberhere>.tga.

Then put the new crosshair into your paintball2\pball\pics directory. After this, start the game and a map and type "crosshair <number>" in the console.
And then you should see your brand new crosshair.

Title: Re: crosshair
Post by: TinMan on July 02, 2006, 04:24:19 PM
There's probably a real answer to your question, but my complicated solution would be to save it as any imagetype that supports transparency (gif, png, tiff, etc.) and then open it in GIMP (http://gimp.org/windows/) and save it as .pcx. That's how I made mine.
Title: Re: crosshair

Ok, if anybody wants to use em'.. here they are.
http://zone.dajoob.com/images/spydie/ch8.tga
http://zone.dajoob.com/images/spydie/ch9.tga
put those in Paintball2>pball>pics, in the game, type crosshair <8-9>
My first ones, so they kinda suck, i actually like them, though

edit: They're just like crosshair 3, red and blue, with a gradient and a little bit of spice to it. when i'm on the red team, i use red, when i'm on blue, i use the blue crosshair, to me, it's easier to see the enemy. I'll be making a crosshair pack. Have fun.

how do i put in a video
Title: Re: crosshair
Post by: Eiii on July 13, 2006, 01:23:35 AM
Wrong thread. Also, where do you want to put in the video? In the crosshair? You could technically make a series of alises that would switch from crosshair to crosshair, but that would technically be about 10-20 different crosshairs instead of just one, and would be hard to redistribute. If you're asking about anything else, you're in the wrong place.

An easy way to control fov with just a click of a button is to download the "grand sniper pack" by smack waters, which you just press the scroll buton, then scroll up and down to use a sniper scope, which is basicaly just a fancy crosshairs with easy fov control. By the way, is there somewhere I can download crosshairs? I only have up to 10, then 16 and 17 from the grand sniper pack. (by the way, when I put in some crosshairs, all I get is a grey square, is this normal? Or does it mean I don't have that crosshair?
