The point of this thread is for mappers to post some cool looking brushes/technical brushes/etc for others to be able to access and use/learn from! I think if we can get this going, it will be much easier for mappers to make maps and more maps of quality!
Brushes:

How to post:
1. Locate .map file from (bsp\pball2\quake2\pball\mapfiles).
2. Name it something appropriate! If it's a wooden box, name it something like "wooden_box".
3. Come here, press the 'Preview' button.
4. Next to "Attach:" click "Choose File".
5. Choose your file.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 but attach a screenshot of your creation! (Paintball2\pball\scrnshot).
7. Add any information you like about your brushes.
8. Post!
Example:
Name: Colored Boxes!
Author: Rick
Info: Just a few cool colored boxes I created! They're 64*64, the exact same size as normal boxes. As the game does not come with plain colored textures, I have attached my boxes with the 'ltwhite' texture on them! Enjoy!
-
Name: Default Sized Boxes/Barrels
Author: Rick
Info: These are just the default sized boxes and barrels. The barrels have a radius of 24(Smaller one has 12) and a height of 64/32 with 8 sides. Boxes are 64*64.
-
Name: Colored Barrels!
Author: Rick
Info: Basically this is to go with Colored Barrels! 24 Radius, 8 sides. Same thing with the textures!
-
Name: Metal Boxes
Author: Rick
Info: Metal Boxes! 64*64. Have fun!
-
Those barrels are aweesoommeeeeeee.
-
Those barrels are aweesoommeeeeeee.
Ah man, I loved the boxes more to be honest!
-
The colored barrels are looking strange for some reason, but the boxes are looking really nice, great idea of detail and design.
-
I love the crates rick!!!! The metal ones are sweet too but I agree with chef the barrels look awkward. They almost look more like lamp shades then barrels lol.
-
Good job on the models!
-
Thanks guys. Hope other people post their own too!
-
should redo pp2 with those boxes/barrels. i think they fit on that map
-
Nice metal crates, but if you have more than about 3 visible, they will drag your wpoly through the eye of the storm and dump it at the gates of hell.
-
Make me a texture I can apply instead V!
-
Just go to photoshop and open a metal texture, then select everything you want to be transparent and hit the backspace button to make it transparent. Not too difficult.
-
A couple I made in '09 and just never had the chance to use. Clipz should be using the tower in his current map, hopefully he gets a SS or two up soon.

-
I can't have a look at the .map files atm. Just make sure to set the detail flag and lock the textures, that it's easier for mappers to use the stuff.
-
This tower reminds me of spaint. It's the same right?
-
reminds me of that meddling loft in blackops on that one map.
-
It was mapped off of a picture, so it is original. It may be a bit on the large size, but mappers can scale it accordingly.

firing range.

-
wow that's sick, nice job baseballman!
-
Needs a poptart at the end...
-
That's why I wanted to start this thread, it helps out the new mappers. Looks very nice.
Getting settled into Uni at the moment. Will be able to update more soon!

Name: Super Stairs
Author: BASEBALLDUDE
Info: OK so I was just playing around with BSP when I discovered a major violation of physics. Apparently, if you stack a bunch of stairs really close together, you will climb them at cannon speed.
So I designed a huge tower of these stairs. You can jump off of them and splash in the pool almost as fast as you can climb up the stairs to the top. There's also an ice half pipe that you can jump into. On the other side, there are some spikes to jump into in case you feel like killing yourself.
I have attached a demo, a .map file, and a .bsp file.
This requires the BASEBALLDUDE Texture Pack. If you don't have it, well, what are you waiting for? Get it now! IT'S FREE!!!!
Ok, enough advertising, here's the BASEBALLDUDE texture pack: http://www.filedropper.com/baseballdudetexturepack

Moving that post for you. S8N made a map with this technique. Can't seem to remember the name of it offhand, though.
-
I have updated this. BASEBALLDUDE, please follow the correct format for submitting. Thanks.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put the wood arrow signs in a wood frame instead of metal? It shouldn't be too difficult to make them. Just use a grid size of 64, create the brush with that texture, and then you can rotate/flip if needed, lock (alt+l), and move it wherever you need it.
I would flip (use a -1 scale) the other horizontal arrow instead of rotating, so the shadow casts in the correct direction (unless you're putting a light under the arrow in the map).
-
Hmmm, I guess but the case the arrow was in would surely be up to the mapper as its there choice it isn't too hard to change all the sides, this was mainly just to save time in future because aligning them is difficult I guess I could make some more with the wood case though.
All the textures are locked so people can move them otherwise I wouldn't have posted them.
What's painstaking is getting it right if you are new to mapping and don't use size 64 and then move the brush withiut locking it creating a misalignment. If nobody has downloaded by tommorow I will make the shadows correct.
-
open_war, would you mind post your amazing crystal brushes in this thread? I am feeling inspired and would like to use those on one of my own maps.
EDIT: No, I will not use this until the next mapping contest. I will not begin working on that map I'm inspired to make until then.

Point of the thread is getting off topic. Post difficult, tricky, or unique brushes, not ones that can be made in a few minutes by anyone :)
-
spot the misalignments lol
-
Posted this for cusoman to use, but I might as well post it here as well:

It has now been updated.
Finally, someone teaching cuso to map..
