Liquid Nitrogen - Beginners Cup 2013 #1
Hello today i am here to tell you that an exciting tournament will be taking place between new clans in DP2
the tournament is aimed at clans who have not had much experience in matching, or who feel they are not good
enough to enter a tournament with "pro" players/clans.

When Will this take place:
The torunament will take place on saturday the 6th of April 2013 - See below for times.

Can i get involved: Yes as long as you are are in a newly formed or average clan (or there abouts) you can play

Where: Servers that have been kindly donated by Superman.

Information

The tournament will be played with teams of 2 people.
The two people should be of the same clan but I will make exceptions.
There may be a third "backup" player but he/she must not play or communicate with the players.
Each team will pick one map to play.
There will be a set tie-breaker map for games that end in a draw.

If the clan has enough players for two (or more) teams they can make a second (etc.) team.
The winners will be decided by a final game.
The clan can pick whatever map they want.

Joining

If your "in" just reply to the forum post or contact me on irc. Alternatively you could PM me.

In that message/post; you should say

Names of the two participating:
For what clan:
How experienced are you:

For Example:

Names of the two participating: omni and Heisenberg
For what clan: |-210| (Liquid Nitrogen)
How experienced are you: We are moderately experienced.

When contacting you must include some form of contact information (email) or if you have a forum account I could just pm you.

I dont have a clan can I still join?

Yes. However only if there are not enough clans available or if i get a lot of people not from clans wishing to join
If this is not a possibility I can put you on a "reserve" list in case someone drops out

I am not that good, can I join?

Yes its a "beginner" tournament why not. Just send a request to omni about why you think you should be involved.

Times:

Timing will be based around GMT time because its easier to organise (sorry) and plus its +/- 0

[OGK] (1) - Pending; I'm waiting for even numbers unless one team gets a free round and automatically passes but I don't think that's fair.

I hope to get more clans involved from here but if these are the only teams we will do a simple "round robin" system whereby each team will play each team once. Sort of like at the World Cup and the top two will play for first while the bottom two play for 3rd/4th place. Feedback is welcomed and will be greatly received thanks.

Ok so here is a breakdown of what will happen teams will meet on #Liquid_Nitrogen (irc) (ask me if your unsure) from there they will be given a server password and will be asked to join that match.

When they are in there match they will play a map each (of their choice) they will then confirm the results to me - I want confirmation from both clan leaders if not and there is only one "captain" confirming then I will take that result-

They will then return to irc and get ready for their next match.

Put Simply

-Join Irc
-Play Match
-Report Results
-Play Again

PRIZES!!!: The winners will get a free [cP] server for there clan!!!

Just to clear things up the bracketed number after the clan in the main post means 1 team not one person.

The tournament will definitely go ahead now there are enough members; I was worried no one would join.

Edit: times will be decided closer to the time, I'm waiting to see what balance of players we have I.E. if there are more players from Europe then we will have a time that is better for euro' players, and vice versa.

So the groups are as follows in no particular order -

Games will start at 6pm and most likely finish at around 9-10pm GMT

Group 1

More Times:

AEST: +10 hours
ACST: +9.5 hours
AWST: +8 hours
CET: +1 hour

Not taking into account daylight saving time because at the time the UK and US will have started this, you will have to check for yourself but the additional times above do not take this into account.

What? I wrote the time above please read the post first its +10 hours so 8am, 9am and 10am

Sorry about the inconvenience but their are least amount of people in Australia so times are suited to Europe and North America

Thanks for hosting it, Omni. I won't be in the tournament because our leaders are meeting up that day, and EPICFACE can't bring his laptop. So good luck randoms! Hope our clan will win a match! :D

P.S. The players want to know when the actual time of the tournament STARTS, so reply to me about that too so I can tell them. :)

ALSO, me and Grizly might play in the tournament, but it's not likely since me, him, and EPICFACE are having a meeting but we could... So our clan MAY have two teams... :-\

Their are 8 teams in the tourney already l don't want any more it would take too long and team would not work, the amount of teams needs to be a multiple of 4, there will be a "pro" tourney after because so many people asked.

Sorry you will have to participate in that.

Well, I wouldn't say 50% not showing up is a good thing. Not Omni's fault at all.

And then his backup, EPICFACE, played for like 2 minutes then left because he had to "leave to my house", even though he came FOUR HOURS LATE to my house. So it was my fault for even entering the tournament. We have to train b4 we can play in another one. Sorry for the inconvenience, later Omni.
