i see a record video from blitz on sandtrap and the players jump on the boxes but if i try it i dont come up there i can doublejump now so i dont know how to do THAT!
is this the gravity from the server or what?
-
You just have to double jump it correctly. Its easy once you get the hang of it.
-
it is only possible on one side of the map
-
its possible on both sides of the map ;)
-
I have seen that video before, he could just stand in front of the box and jump onto it. Oddjob i think it was told me that this is no longer possible and it was a q2 fps glitch. It was really cool seeing him getting onto those boxes tho :O I tried right after on every box but couldnt do it ;(
-
try harder...and with speedhacks :P
j/k, you can do it, you just need a really crappy box, lol
the engine like predicts that you will make the jump, which lets you make it, it pulls you up, you just have to be close.
-
im confused which jump are yall talking about? theres quite a few boxes on sand
-
This one, right?
-
well if its that jump, then all you need to know is how to do a simple double jump.
-
You don't need to know how to do a double jump really, just run at the boxes and don't stop tapping the spacebar, lol.
-
lmao well said... but im more into doing it right :/ i like all my jumps to look clean and graceful
-
This one, right?
wow no. Blitz went right up to a NORMAL SIZED BOX, and jumped onto it. its impossible now. Heres the demo of him doing it, watch it!

its kind of a funny video as well, but they do it later into the video
-
Its because back then there was a thing called "Fps jumping" the higher the Fps you got it was easier to get on things you normally couldnt just jump on.
-
yea so pppl GOt ElEEEt!

It was only possible on a select few maps, most notably those made by goldbond, since he had a habit of putting his maps below the z-axis. It was caused by roundoff errors in the player movement. The more movement packets you sent, the more roundoff error there was. Values round toward 0, so if you're below 0, it rounds up, making you jump higher. If you're above 0, it rounds down, making you jump lower. I fixed it because it encouraged people to waste bandwidth, mostly. It also made it unfair for people who didn't have both a fast computer and a high-speed connection. It only affected 2 or 3 maps, anyway.
-
ah, I thought it was possible on all maps.
-
One of the more notable ones was pforest. You could double-jump the bd crate to get up onto the bridge.
-
There's still this little bug in that map, but unlike in the original arctic map which was remade to pbcup, it doesn't send you through the ceiling. :P
