I have penix, just like everyone else in the DP community. I don't use it when I play, I dont hack (in dp atleast. cs is another story.)
I am curious, will watching a demo with penix on get you banned/send reports to you? I think I caught someone hacking and I want to watch the demo with penix on, but I also don't want to get GBL'd. Will watching the demo with penix on get me GBL'd?

Copy your paintball2 folder to another location on your disk to avoid tainting your gaming folder. Install your penix there and keep it out of the gaming folder. Copy the necessary maps/demos over to watch. You can't get banned unless you're using a server that is flaged public(set public 1).
I don't know if you can set public on a listen server, but if you're using your own test server that has public set and you're using a detected cheat. You're going to get GBL'd.

Nor do I. I think it's pretty much settled that everybody in the dp community doesn't have Penix.

I have it, but I never got it working. That would have taken effort. I just stick with the basics, like in-game voice recon -- it can really light up the way.

um, actually I did. notice my sad smiley face, now i cant watch demos with it.

Last I checked the b16 source, Jittie's cheat detection will only start if maxplayers>1. Is that correct, or am I only thinking of the part where it resets settings that can be used for fullbright and other Q2 hacks?

Jitspoe, that would be great for testing out maps! Make anti-cheat only work when there is more than 1 peson, so mapmakers can test at will!please please please please

Yeah, I don't quite get that. I'm thinking maybe supertanker is on a different page than the rest of us. What kind of testing are you doing, supertanker?

I am pretty sure that if you asked around you would be suprised to find that alot of the experienced players have all had it at one point, that does not mean they use it in matches and in public games.
