Title: Random brief lag/game freezes
Post by: Smokey on July 19, 2006, 01:00:23 AM
While playing lately i have noticed that my game freezes/lags at random points. its not to bad, just a brief glitch where the sound and video stops moving but it really is annoying.

I have noticed that my netgraph gets a small little bar when it happens. I thought that it might have been E(my irc bot) lagging me but i closed it and it still happened.

here are some screen shots of my netgraph

My taskmanager CPU usage and such

any explanation on why this is happening and way to fix it.

Looks like hiccups in your network connection.  I'm guessing it happens on all servers?

Gigabit ethernet, get with it.  =P
And if you happen to have an older linksys router, install Open-WRT firmware on it, you can boost the WiFi signal's power.

Get rid of any packet scheduling crap if you can.  That just lags games.
