Alright, I figured with all the talk about the paintball committee and soon to be league, maybe getting ideas or suggestions for a type of map list that should be put together, would be good.
In the original DPL, mostly run by Red Eagle and Gibb, there was a map list which clans had to pick from in for their matches. Hopefully, in my opinion, that'll be the way it is for the upcoming DPL.
I'm thinking a maplist of approx. 10-15 maps should be sufficient. From what I've heard, apparently matches will be held to a 4v4 minimum, or at least it's the preferred number. Anyway, 6 maps that I believe should be included in this map list are as follows:
- Midnight
- Hell Survivors
- Pforest
- Ksplat2
- Sphouse
- Castle1 ( I hate this map but meh, it works for 4v4)
Please, throw in your ideas, add on to the map list or take some out.

Well, it will be up to the committee to vote on.

no doubt it will be up to the committee, but it's definitely something that everyone should voice their opinion on, yes..the clan rep in the committee will do that but may as well get ideas out on the forum now, gives the committee less work to do and the community more voice on a really big part of matching.

The maps you've listed are all old school maps. I think that there should be a general mix of old and new maps, just like the players... some are old, some are new, ya know?

Old school > new school. That is a fact, I think ;D
Its cool to start to think about it, but i wouldnt worry about it too much yet. It will all happen in due time. Till then its good to start playing those old (and new) maps that you havent played in a while and get to understand how they would perform in a good match.

Belmont: I realize the maps that i suggested are old school maps, which is why I also asked for people to add extra maps that they believe would be decent for 4v4 matches. A lot of new one's lately are way to small for 4v4's but there are some that will be good, I just can't think of them or don't know them.
As for making an "official" map list, that's not at all what I'm trying to accomplish right now, I'm just trying to get a general idea of what types of maps are preferred so that it can be discussed later on..not to mention that I also want input on this so that my sorry ass can practice these maps. lol ;D

I've checked out all the map you mentioned DT and they all seem pretty good for 4v4's, unfortunately i wasn't able to see perfugio or tranquilhavoc so i don't remember those. :-/
The only one I've never seen before was midevil, when was that made?

Thats a great list of maps DT. Some of them I never seen before I checked them out today. A few of them look like they would be excellent for the odd 8v8 match!
Also its funny looking at some of the old maps compared to newer maps. They look so ancient and dull. Just compare Warzone to Warezone 2002.

How about we list bad maps too. Not necessarily that they are bad maps, but the ones that are unacceptable for real matching.

Geez, turn your gamma down and turn overbrights on -- that looks horrible. There's purple splotches all over the sky. :P
The bridge is pretty cool, though.

The splotches are there due to the jpg compression, but are only visible when you crank the gamma way up.
