Why are my maps all out of order? They are all in order in the maps file, but it takes me forever to find the map I want in-game. (I have a ton of maps)
-
Could be that the file names of the map are not exactly the same as the names of the maps.
-
The order goes by the .bsp of the map. So say you wanted like airtime it would be airtime.bsp
but yeah. I think thats why
-
no such thing as a stupid question!
-
I think it goes by whatever order the maps directory was sorted in. Try opening up your pball/maps directory, right click, and arrange by name.
-
yeah I did sort the maps file a couple times, but it still mixes a lot of them up. even if they were .bsp wouldn't it still go by the first letter?
-
some maps are named different in bsp than ingame for example jump.bsp is known as kriss-kross ingame. that may be the problem but im no expert
-
maybe; right now it's grouping them in two bigger groups with a lot of variation; something like this (by first letter):
aaaabbcbccbabddffiiggghhihhrsststsrrquwwwtsyy
and then it starts over at the p's or so:
ppppqqqqrrrsstttuuwwyyyz

i Always thought that the first few were organized alphabetically because they came with the game, and then all the ones after were in order of which you downloaded them in.
