Title: Help Lighting
Post by: Hamsterdam on October 25, 2006, 09:36:35 PM
Alright, two questions. First off, how do I make the cloudy sky thing? When I do pbsky 2, it makes the sky white. I put it in the entities in worldspawn, but it does nothing. Next, I put an LIT texture in my map, because when i went to test it, it was all dark. It's still all dark now. Hopefully I don't sound too stupid :-\

Are you using the new version of BSP? If so, I had these problems too. But they're easily fixable.

To fix the sky, make sure that the 'sky' flag is checked in the surface properties. Also, make sure the light value is at 1000 or something.

Make sure lit textures have the light flag set, and the light value at something fairly high. Feel free to compile with RAD at low, low settings to make it look about right.

I just realized I don't know how to do surfaces. When I go to the display section and click surface, nothing happens. Any help?

Just hit "s" to bring up the surface property window.

Tofix for BSP: check that MDI windows are actually in bounds to be seen >_<

(I've lost surface properties before, it was so bad that I had to bump my resolution way up to find it!)
Sorry, what the hell does that mean?
