I'm not very smart i have learned that when it comes to computers I'm not as smart as i once thought i was. is there any good sites that are free that can teach me some new things? I'm looking for basics and above. maybe java, flash, more HTML (i know some but not enough) xHTML(again i know some but even less of this then HTML.
and yes i already looked into getting little tyke computer for preschool kids as well as playskool computer for newborns. both were beyond me.

I agree 100% with the above statement :D

I can search google all day and find tons. What I'm really looking for are your recommendations on how to learn the ones I have listed. Joe that page is going to be great as I try to learn more HTML. Anyone else have any good recommendations for java, flash, and maybe some scripting, or even c++. I'm going to be going to school in the spring to learn about all these things but it wont hurt to get a head start.

another suggestion would be to go to college and take the classes :-)

Flash: http://www.flashkit.com/
Java: Avoid it.
Scripting: http://www.php.net/
C++: http://www.codeguru.com/ http://msdn.microsoft.com/
I don't really use sites for learning/tutorials. I just figure most stuff out on my own and search for specific things I have trouble with (reference pages, mostly).

The only good things I've seen made with Java could have been made better with C or C++.
-
Yup. Java is a like a fat, bloated, longhand version of C. But I still know some of it, so back off. :P
