I did a quick search but didn't find much. Is there any way to record deaths instead of streak kills in the HUD?
I want to at least shoot for breaking even and that makes it easier to tell.
-
no. not in the current version. all you can modify with the hud are size (cl_hudscale) and the pictures used. i asked jits about adding something to he hud and he said that it cant be done. i wanted to imitate a menu thing using it (http://dpball.com/forums/index.php?topic=3924.0)

Ah well, can't have everything!
Thanks for the reply!
-
glad i could help
-
im sure it wouldent be too hard of a modification to the code..
-
It wouldn't at all. Zorch is thinking of something else. Hey jits, could you make that an option in the next build? It shouldn't be that hard, seeing as it's just replacing one variable with another...
-
i have pretty much temporarily given up on my idea until build 17 is released. but if someone else is very bored and looking for something to do, ill let them mess around with what ive already put together.

Always reaching for that rainbow..

I cant believe anyone has the time to look at the HUD.
-
LOL
It's something that I've learned to do subconsciously, you don't really pay attention to it, you just know what's going on with it.
-
hellz yeah, and i made my hud the smallest it can go on my res, and i can still see everything without knowing
-
The main things on the HUD that I find helpful to look at are
1. paint remaining
2. little bars of how many people on each team are remaining.
3. Scoreboard
If you don't know how much paint you have it can get ugly.
If you don't know how many people are left you can kill them at the wrong time (done that).
Scoreboard tells you how far above your deaths you are, how others are doing and most importantly, whether that last person left on the other team is a fantastic player or an average one, which can determine the strategy.
