I cant se any server in the game.
I can go to the server list manualy thrue my webbrowser.
I get the following message when hitting "Update":
WARNING: UPD_OpenSocket: bind: WSAEADDRINUSE
pinging broadcast
pinging broadcast
Retriving serverlist from Http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/serverlist.php
WARNING: recv():
WSWSAENCONNABORTEDAEINTR
Retriving serverlist from
http://dpball.com/serverlist.php
WARNING: revv():
WSWSAENCONNABORTEDAEINTR
That is the entire console text that comes when I hit update.
I can access both "Http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/serverlist.php" and "http://dpball.com/serverlist.php" in my webbrowser.
I have tried to shutdown my firewall but got the same result. I have also opened port 27910 in my router of both TCP/UDP and the port 80.
Any idea wy I can't se any servers?

Try the latest standalone server browser and see if it works at all: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=1683.msg61635#msg61635
It should be using the same methods to retrieve the data.
I looked up those errors, "WSAEADDRINUSE" is caused by two applications trying to listen on the same port (do you have any other games or game-related things like server browsers open that might be tying up those ports?). "WSWSAENCONNABORTEDAEINTR" should actually be "WSAECONNABORTED" (bug in the Quake2 code). Apparently that means the connection was aborted locally by software (typically due to timeouts). I suspect your firewall software is doing something funky even though you've shut it down. You might try completely disabling it, even unistalling it, then rebooting and see if you still have issues.

I have a program called "serverbrowser" that came with the game. I tried to let it go for 4 minutes or so but none came up. I do not want to uninstall my firewall.
Any idea on how to figure out wich program may use the port recuierd by the game?

Do you use some kind of proxy for web connections? How is your network set up? Do you connect your computer to a cable modem or what?
-
I have a DSL modem, cable. Between my modem and computer I have a wireless router. I do not think that I use proxy...
-
What about antivirus software? Sometimes that can block Internet connections as well. I think Norton is pretty bad about it.
-
I turned Zone alarm security suit off, including antivirus and got the same result...
I want to be able to play :(
-
Are you still getting the exact same error after all of that?
-
Yes I get the same error message. Turned first off Anit virus/spyware and then shutdown the firewall completly. I have no idea what causes the error to appear :(
-
Try this test program and see what happens: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=5285
-
It returned:
LatestClientBuild: 16
cURL return code: 0
Press enter to continue...
-
No list of IP's before that?
-
A big list of IP numbers whas there.
I have recorded a video showing wut happends in the game when I try get the server list from it but it is upploading right now. I post it here when it is uploaded.
-
Ok, so that's working at least. I wonder what cURL does differently.
-
And here is the download link to the video: http://rapidshare.com/files/19942180/Paintball_error.avi.html
-
Well, crap, I don't have the necessary codec installed on this computer to view that. If you're able to download the list with the cURL test app, though, I think this issue can be fixed in a future version. Just hang in there.
-
The codec I used is "CamStudio Lossless codec V 1.0".
K I hope it will, it looks good :)
Just curius, when will the new relese come?
-
Jitspoe, did you try watching it with VLC Media Player? (free)
I use it for .avi's on all OSes.
-
Tin: Nah, I'm on my work machine. I'll just view it when I get home.
Shadow: It depends on how much stuff I have to address. Hopefully it will be fairly soon.
