Try closing xfire and see if it still does it. I've had some issues with the latest version.
-
same thing with xfire off
-
can anyone help? or am I stuck without playing this game?
-
What video card do you have? You might try updating to the latest drivers for it. Do other OpenGL-based games (such as Quake3) work?
-
I play Call of Duty 2 and 18 Wheels of Steel Haulin' just fine. I have the G-Force 4 and it is compeleted updated.
-
CoD2 uses Direct3D. I don't know what 18 Wheels uses. nVidia cards tend to have good support for OpenGL, so I'm not sure what's wrong.
Try this:
Press ~
Type "map midnight" (without quotes) and press enter.
-
nothing, just forget it, I go somewhere else.
-
Bummer. :-\
One last thing you might be able to try is alt+enter for fullscreen. Also, are these the drivers you're using here? http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html
-
yes that is where I updated it about a month ago.
I tried the alt+enter, it went to fullscreen the scren flashed gray then went to black and that was it

You don't happen to have Quake2 or the Quake2 demo that you could test in OpenGL mode, do you? There's not much to go on here, but if it's a problem with the game, I'd like to fix it.
-
All the games I played are direct 3D what if it is an OpenGL problem?
-
What OS you running? I'm running Vista and I've had some OpenGL issues because Micro$oft likes Direct 3D better.
-
I have XP

fric: I'd try downloading some OpenGL applications just to see if they run properly. I did a google search and this came up first: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Benchmarks/OpenGL-Geometry-Benchmark.shtml
I'd also try the Quake2 demo, since it will be have a lot closer to how Paintball2 behaves.
http://static.hugi.is/games/quake2/demo/q2-314-demo-x86.exe (first google hit)
-
i tired it at school and it worked, so it might be the openGL thing, what do I do to fix it?
-
Get new drivers, or a new video card. :D
-
I imagine it has something to do with the drivers or driver settings. What, specifically, I don't know. You might try completely uninstalling your nvidia drivers then installing the latest ones and see if that improves things any. With as old as your card is, you might need to find some older drivers as well.
