Well, this slipped right by me, but the registration for QuakeCon 2007 started this weekend. There are still some slots free on the BYOC, so hit up http://quakecon.org/ and register quickly. There is no charge. You just have to get yourself there. I was hoping to organize things a bit better this year, but I wasn't expecting registration to open so soon. Stay tuned for more details.

So what was the turnout at the last DPCON held in Texas (of DP people that is)?
I probably can't make it that far, really depends, and it wouldn't be anything I could plan any distance in advance.
If it were in NC, however, I would probably be there.

There really wasn't a dpcon last year. It was too last minute and basically nobody could go, so I just went and enjoyed QuakeCon for what it was.

Gap year = year between finishing school and going to uni.

Is everyone staying at the Hilton its being held at? I checked for available rooms and as far as I noticed the only remaining ones were aroudn $180 a night. I figure there might be somewhere to find a good deal on a room there, if so, let me know. For the meantime, I'll be looking into other places to stay aruond there for cheaper.

When I went, I stayed at a hotel down the street. That entire street is practically nothing but hotels, so there are about 20 to choose from.

ch40s: Last year was so last minute that I just found some random guy on IRC to room with (Jehar). If you're like us, you won't be spending much time sleeping anyway. I think the quakecon website might have some suggestions for other hotels to stay at. Just find something cheap within walking distance. I'm trying to remember what we stayed at. It might have been the Quality Inn.

I just suggested it to all the really active clan kiddies, skater and smokey and some other random newbs did all the convincing. The only people I convinced were the stubborn old men.
