Title: no servers in list
Post by: Rebell on March 25, 2007, 11:29:29 AM
There arn't any servers in my list.
I have no active firewall. And I use build 16.

In my shell I could read:

pinging broadcast...
Connecting to 192.168.1.33:27190...
Connecting to 192.168.1.33:27190...
Connecting to 192.168.1.33:27190...
Connecting to 192.168.1.33:27190...
Connecting to 192.168.1.33:27190...
Connecting to 192.168.1.33:27190...
Connecting to 192.168.1.33:27190...

.....

192.168.1.33 is my private IP, it seems, that paintball is trying to get the list from my Computer.

192.168.1.33 is your LAN IP not your private IP.

I agree that it is searching for the serverlist on your computer.

Go to the config.cfg in pball\configs and make sure the following lines look like this:

seta serverlist_source3 "http://dpball.com/serverlist.php"
seta serverlist_source2 "http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/serverlist.php"
seta serverlist_source "http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/servers.txt"

Hopefully this will help. (I think) ???

Also, press the "update" button, not just "refresh".

Heh, I doubt Vista will help much at this point.

If anything it would make it worse. I ran DP fine on XP, and when I installed Vista I ran into a few problems. In fact I still haven't matched the ping I had on XP.

XP is pretty nice, its Microsoft Window's 98 and ME that really blows...

As far as windows gaming goes for me, I've had the best luck with these OSes: Win2k SP4 and Win2003 Server

Win2003 Server

I have a disk for that one, but I lost the CD Key. And I don't feel like doing a 5 hour search through MSDN AA to find my 'account' page. (btw, does anyone have a link to it?)
