I was looking for a file tait uploaded to zilla-clan.net/upload and came across this little gem:

I get 20 fps on average because my Alienware fried.
But it should be back soon, so i'll have 1000 fps constant again.

To me this looks like someone might have to deleted some textures but as I have said many times I could be wrong.

Does quake2 have picmip? Because that's what the screenshots spook posted look like, they look like running Quake 3 with r_picmip 16 or so.

i think i remember xbain making the ss that spook showed and showing them on irc. it had something to do with picmips i beleive too.

I know who the first screen shot belongs too, but the second one is when you turn your texture quality all the way down. Makes everything look like crap if you ask me.

Yeah, picmip is the quality of the textures I think, which is why 16 is the worst it can go in Quake 3. (I think)
It makes it look cartoony. =P

I changed a setting and tooks these screenshots then uploaded them to show some people in #20id. It's a setting that jitspoe even put in the setup menu. It's too fugly for me to ever use though.

lol that sshot is mine all i did was lower all the textures all the way down none are deleted just at the lowest lvl

beaver you need to go out and get a new video card right now. If I had to play with graphics like that I would slit my own wrists.

that happend to me when i had my old computer, I oc'd my video card which was an Geforce 4 mx 4000, took it to 200mhz x 400mhz with RivaTuner Now with this pc i have the XFX 7600gt it came overclocked 590x1600mhz

It isn't a cheat, but I don't know who would actually want to play like that.
1) Type gl_picmip 10 in the console
2) Type vid_restart in the console
Or just use the easy drag bar in the setup menus.

I hope so. im thinking about taking my time out and making all new textures or atleast trying to... gonna try to use the grass from AA and the building too..i think jits should update the engine. :)

34 is required for certain jumps, but I suppose you wouldn't know that unless you played Q2Jump.

when i played jumps the only fps i used was 25, 30-33, 45, 60, 90, 120, 160

Spook.. once again your wrong.. 31 fps is not as good as 33 and 34.. just for ladders and tripples.
Also for regular jumps its best to use 66 or 111. I dont remember the reason but Rambler, Neur0 (q2 jump creators) and Wootwoot (best q2 jumper ever) explained it to me.

i can do every jump i need to do on 31 fps or 0... i don't need to mess with fps every time i need to move like the fgts did in jump mod

Why do you guys care about jumping so much? Dp isnt a jump mod. Quit crying about it, go get q2 and play q2jump mod. Whats the point of being able to do every dp jump when you cant even hit a moving target.
