Ok, how does this work? I went to check my current bandwidth usage on EV1/dplogin.com to make sure I wasn't at risk of exceeding the 750GB/mo limit on the new server that's getting set up, and I noticed a rather peculiar thing. In the past couple of months the incoming traffic was higher than the outgoing traffic. Take a look:
In/Out
Mar: 38.56 GB/24.53 GB
Feb: 49.17 GB/29.49 GB
Jan: 42.61 GB/59.81 GB
Dec: 47.56 GB/80.47 GB
Nov: 74.90 GB/122.47 GB
It used to have more outgoing bandwidth than in, but it seems after I've added the forums, it has more in bandwidth than out, which really doesn't make sense. What could possibly be uploaded to the server to exceed the data being downloaded?
-
someone haxed the forum uploads! lol
-
Except that the overall bandwidth usage has been less recently, so even that doesn't make sense...
-
They unhaxed it.

Uploading images and avatars takes up a lot.
-
ITS THE WHO ARE YOU THREAD!!!...nvm
-
Uploading images and avatars takes up a lot.
But they get uploaded once and viewed multiple times...
-
maybe there is something else that your not thinking about?
what about that test server? what about all the tests you've ran?
could any of those be the culprit ?
-
I don't see why the test server would cause such a difference since it is run just like any other server.
-
My tests don't involve uploading much to the server. I can't help but wonder if this has anything to do with the mystery lag spikes. Perhaps some node is pounding the server at certain times. I really don't know, though. Anybody know how I could get more detailed statistics on the inbound/outbound traffic?

i know cgiproxy has statistics in the admin portion, idk what servers would use...
