If you had merely looked 4 posts down:
http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=5865.0

But in case you want to know what the actual program does, it allows users to download files from a server to their DP directory by merely running a bat file.

Seeing as my last attempt to make an update script was a nightmare to test, I want to give it a rest for a while.
I'll start work on a news feature and package installers.

V you crack me up, you ask for our opinions then toss it out, haha gotta love it.  Best of luck :)

Cheers,

That's a good point. Anyway I did the news feature in 5 minutes so I'm removing it from the vote.
V you crack me up, you ask for our opinions then toss it out, haha gotta love it.
I'm nearly 14, guess why I'm so impatient. 2 years to go...

What's the news feature anyway?

Find out, get 0.5 using the update feature or on the other thread ;-)

I just updated and I gotta say I love how easy it is to update, also I just grabbed Zorch's latest menus in a few seconds, awesome work ViciouZ.  The news feature is awesome, I would say keep up the good work, but honestly this program does everything it needs to now, anything else would be a great bonus!

Cheers,
y00tz

Well, at the moment I'm working on a feature to update your downloaded packages like Z's menus, and also seperate installers for each package when it is downloaded. There are also still some bugs that aren't fixed in this version, and I think it'll probably be at version 0.7 before it's done. Then I'll work on updating the database regularly.

To avoid giving the impression of apparent ignorance, I am going to say :

Sweet, add all of them, those are all awesome, and that thing your adding to is really cool too !!!

I voted for the "Package installer scripts", but I can make scripts for my menus to save you the work. You just need to give me the details on how everything will be organized, etc.

Post by: soldier on May 02, 2007, 04:41:58 PM
Ok, I don't want to be the only person not talking in computer talk so : for your package installer scripts, try and make the menu's easy to use, and ..... ok I have no idea what the meant, so I admit I just geussed with that last bit...

But seriously now, I think German translation, because I hate going into a server and having NO CLUE what people are saying, and then you don't know if they're purposely talking gibberish, or if they are really talking in another language.

If I am not mistaken that has nothing to do with DPGet at all.

If you want a feature like that vote for it here (http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=5060.340).

Soldier has a bad habit of posting when he shouldn't.

On a related note ;) I started on the CSS tutorial now that I'm back in town - so much work to get caught up on, so I'll probably post it early next week.

Anything new w/ DPGet while I was away?

Nothing really happened, no. I was revising, tests next week. Work is underway on the German translation thanks to b00nlander.

Instead of being rude and annoying, why don't you search for DPGet on the forum, you will find descriptions by both ViciouZ and myself.

Edit:  I just searched and sure enough today at 1pm my time, ViciouZ edited the DPGet post with a good description.

Read the thread mate. This ISN'T a DP feature request thread. You'll find that in the development section. This is a thread for a tool to download DP-related files.

Feature request for 0.9:

Like Zorchenhimer has said, several of us have several DP installations,
Could you add a feature to go through and add them, then have an option for switching between DP profiles?

Example:

profile:  DP build 16
location: c:/games/dp2 build 16/
profile:  DP build 17a
location: c:/games/paintball2/
profile:  DP build 17a w/ Zorch's menus
location: c:/games/paintball2plus/

And maybe the user could switch by a entering their choice, through a menu called Profile Selection or whatever:

1  DP build 16
2  DP build 17a
3  DP build 17a w/ Zorch's menus

I can further explain if you'd like, but what do you think?

That's an interesting idea. I like it.

Added to poll and votes reset. I also added command line switches. What I mean here is if you linked your pb2 start menu shortcut to dpget.bat with the switch /play, then it would check if all your packages are up to date and update them then switch to the current dp 'profile' and start the game.

Other: strip it down to a .bat file, this whole program is unnecessary.
