but i understand your fustration speaking from experence snipen is a very very prickly pear( i have logged most minutes there) ....only thing i can do is shut up and try to win with the ppg(great weapon with steel barrel) which seems to work well (all time ppg god here) and stop spamming chat with bound phrases...trying to help :)

I think as a general rule, you're required to be an power-tripping, abusive prick in order to be given admin rights to the graf servers. At least, I've yet to encounter a graf admin that didn't fit that description.

Jitspoe you crack me up... We pay our hard earned dollar to give free servers to idots who whine "hacks" complain about everything they can but contribute nothing to DP or the servers.. We started the servers when Er33t decided to close their servers because of their inability to continue to pay for their servers. DP was going to shut down until we brought the servers online. (YOUR WELCOME)
YES I admit there has been some admin abuse on ocassion and I'm not condoneing that but we went through the identical same problems and complaints with Er33t servers when they were alive and you never said a thing.
What saddens me about you is that you are so caught up in YOURSELF, YOUR ALPHA and your little IRC "CLICK" that you have forgotten the most basic elements of marketing a product.
There will always be crybabies who think noone should be able to beat them ect and that everyone is doing them wrong...

I used to have respect for them (they know who they are) but no longer give a hoot. I think ALL of you need to stop acting like magpies on a fence, be quiet, and play the game. Otherwise, be quiet and go somewhere else.
We might have to use the servers, which cost us in excess of $1,200 per year, for something other than YOUR ALPHA. Oh and BTW APEX is no more protected than Graffiti when it comes to hacks.
In FINAL, if you don't like Graffiti servers then stay the F__K off and stop trying to talk them down. You've paid nothing and again, haven't been on them enough to form an opinion...

Because dedicating like 4 hours of my life every day to a game and its community is so selfish...
I'm not "forcing" anything. If you want to play on an outdated server with Q2, that's fine. You don't need it on the DP serverlist to do that. It still works with GameSpy or ASE. It is, however, frustrating when I spend years working on something and people just shove it aside without so much as commenting on what they don't like.
I think "clique" is the word you want, btw.

Yeah we're what, 4 server side updates behind?? They change way too often and the one were using works just fine.
It's funny that the ONLY servers that show up on the ALPHA server list is APEX servers.
Yeah you spend years creating something but you ONLY listen to a few select in your "CLIQUE" (the word I wanted) Your not forcing anything? You take our servers off the list because we're NOT impressed with your latest serverside client?
Like I said, you crack me up and the proof is in the package.. Keep it on Apex servers because in my opinion, no matter how, unimportant it may seem to you, you've ruined my opinion of you and Digital Paintball with these antics.
Again, APEX servers block nothng more than GRAFFITI Servers do and APEX servers lag. Cheats are still used on both and as hard as it might seem to some there are still great players on both even if some of us like to spend and hour or more playing DP daily. I have seldom missed a day in what, 7 years now? I'm a hack, I cheat, and now I'm selfish? I've heard it ALL over the years...
It is excretory openings like me who keep your game going... now whose really become the "Selfish" one

The build running on graffiti is over 8 months old. I had to go back 59 news updates to find it. :)
Here's some of what's changed since then:
Gameplay Changes
- KOTH (King of the Hill) support -- there are ent files included for ksplat2, koth, and yoy that allow you to play them in KOTH mode. Teams get a point for each x number of seconds they stay on the hill (controllable by “koth_hilltime”). There are no rounds and the respawn time, controllable by “koth_elim”, is defaulted to 5 seconds.
- "flagmustbeatbase" cvar requires all of the flag carrier's team's flags to be at home before the carrier can capture the flag. This makes maps like castle1 much more interesting and no longer a rabid capfest.
- “flagcapendsround” cvar (actually implement in a previous version, but I’ll mention it here since it works well with the above setting) ends the round as soon as the flag is captured. Especially handy when you have that one newbie left alive hiding in the corner while the other team keeps doing flag runs -- this way they can only get one capture.
- Gun freezing. In order to discourage the squat-n-spray tactics that are becoming ever-so-prevalent (two guys sitting around the corner from each other spraying a stream of paint waiting for the other to walk into it), this was added. As long as you don’t spray nonstop it shouldn’t be a problem. “guntemp_inc” and “guntemp_dec” control how quickly the freeze bar increases and decreases. The default values are pretty forgiving right now, but I’d like to make it stricter in the future.
- Overtime. If the scores are tied when the timelimit is reached, the map goes into overtime for 2 minutes (or whatever is specified by the “overtime” cvar). There are also some fine-tuning options. If “overtime_0” is set, the map will go into overtime even if the scores are all 0. If overtime_4team is set, all teams must have unique scores (useful for a 4-team tournament that requires specific rankings for each team).
New Rotation System
- mapinfo files allow you to specify the minimum and maximum player counts for a map to load, thus eliminating overcrowded servers on tiny maps and near-empty servers on gigantic maps. They also allow for the cycling of game modes, so you can play something like midnight in 1-flag mode or halfpipe in deathmatch mode.
- Map voting. Rather than simply changing to the map with the most votes, votes accumulate. Each person gets one vote per map. One person voting for a map over the sequence of 5 map changes counts the same as 5 people placing a single vote for the same map. All maps also get one auto-vote. That keeps things cycling in a normal rotation. Basically voting for a map bumps it up one position in the rotation. The map with the most votes gets played then its vote count gets reset to 0. You can also vote for different game modes. “votemap <mapname> <gamemode>” is the command, but there’s also a GUI menu for it in build 12. You can even vote for maps that aren’t in the rotation and they will be added but get no autovotes. They must be voted to the top of the list. The “sv_votemaptime” cvar controls how long (in seconds) players have to vote at the end of the map.
- Remote admins can easily alter the map list with the “rotation” command. It allows for the dynamic addition, deletion, and saving of maplists.
- "newmap" command supports a gamemode parameter. Example: "newmap midnight 1flag"
Misc. Stuff
- can now specify "requiredfiles" in the map worldspawn and the client will download specified
files (requires client build 11 or higher).
- In order to make things fair and reduce wasted bandwidth, "sv_maxfps" limits the client cl_maxfps (Quake2) and cl_cmdrate (Paintball2). Default is 80. Note: There are some issues related to joysticks on the standalone Paintball2 client that cause it to send more data than it should and may result in getting you kicked for repeatedly exceeding the limit.
- "fadetoblack" cvar fades screen to black when a person is eliminated so they can't ghost recon.
- "observerblackout" cvar makes observer's screen black during rounds so they can't provide recon.
- Code reworked to allow for client-side scoreboard, encoded messages, etc. Lots of cool stuff for players using build 12.

Bugfixes
- In Siege mode, upon winning the round and reaching the fraglimit, it ends the game instantly rather than starting an new round then ending it.
- Teams no longer get points for ffire while on defense in Siege mode.
- In CTF, 2nd flag no longer appears on stand at round end if someone is carrying it.
- Players sorted by kills, then deaths.
- Nothing is displayed when the chat string is empty (ie: pressing t then hitting enter).
- Spawn with weapons now works properly with expert mode.
- Fixed a potential crash on linux servers related to the password setting.
- Funname fixed for botcmd so you can properly rename your bots now, ie: sv botcommand ACEBot_1 funname Jack
- fixed problem with noname bots.
- Idle checks are stricter now. Some input devices (such as joysticks) made players appear to not be idle even though they were. Now if they don’t move in the number of seconds specified by the “idle” cvar, they get knocked into observer. Also, if they are in observer when the map changes, they won’t autojoin a team.
- Fixed crash relating to double kills while on maps where you spawn with weapons (often seen on bigarenaball).
- Fixed skin check -- at some point I made it impossible to change skins.
- Deathmatch winner determined by kills then deaths (not just the first player with the most kills).
- “viewgib” command now displays a proper death message.
Small Tweaks
- Negative skill makes bots not shoot.
- Dropped item reduction (dead players only drop what other players NEED) -- reduces lag.
- smoke fades out slowly. Transitions to/from smoke also smoothed out. Intensity of smoke increased somewhat.
- "ver" / "gameversion" command extended to show server executable version.
- When the last person on a team leaves, rather than instantly ending the map, it has a timer to give people a chance to resume the game.
- Intermission time now controllable by "intermissiontime" cvar.
- Got rid of the 12g CO2 on HUD while dead / observer.
- “tossgren” now takes parameters: timed and impact. Default depends on gren_explodeonimpact setting.
- “g_writestats” cvar dumps the statistics of each player (shots fired, hits, time alive, etc) to the server console. Very primitive right now. Eventually I want to expand that to upload statistics to a global database.
- "cvar_get" command.
- "cvar_set" updated to have all necessary cvars.
- if you try to use the same name as someone else, you get (1) tagged on the end (or (2), or (3)...).

Admin abuse haha thats funny about that you cant satisfy every one what one calls abuse or just being an excretory opening another might call evening of odds , payback, kicking someone who might be cheating .

The problem here is more than just outdated versions, however, (not so sure what's such a big deal about spending ten seconds to unzip and restart the servers). The admin abuse is more often than "on ocassion" as you suggest. It was getting to the point where I'd hear complaints every single day -- often from up to 5 different poeple -- about being kicked for beating somebody, getting viewgibbed just before capping, or some kind of 'hack' that would allow an admin to kill everyone instantaneously, etc. That doesn't even take into account the new players who were viewgibbed or kicked for things as simple as "getting in the way" and got completely fed up with the game and will never return. I've even seen demos of you, PiCaSSo, kicking people for playing better than you. At some point I just had to say, "Enough is enough." Yes, I appreciate you spending your hard-earned money on servers, however just because you're paying for them doesn't give you the right to abuse the admin powers. In a bushel this small, one bad apple quickly spoils the whole bunch. What am I to do?
On a side note, I'm curious -- how much do you spend a month for the server, PiCaSSo?
And FWIW, apex is less laggy than graffiti for me ('bout a 30% lower ping, too). :)

Servers are laggier for different people, it depends on your location.
MuT gets good ping because he lives near the graf servers, so apex would seem laggier. And vise-versa..

The only person I have been kicking is Bob whom I'm fed up with, not because you think he might be better than me. That doesn't make a difference to me because I play many that are better than him... Again, because you are seldom actually with us in the games you are unable to see Bob running at the mouth like he does EVERYTIME he comes into a game... The person recording obviously doesn't record much prior to the kick.
Check the "bad apples" on your side of the tree before assuming that the ones on my side of the tree are bad.
I've seen admin abuse just as it was on past servers and again don't condone it however your passing judgement based on IRC chat alone rather than actually seeing it for your own eyes. I'm not talking about selective demos either. Your not seeing both sides of the story.
You listen to the few in IRC but forget there are many that don't even have IRC.
Apex is less laggy for you thats great Jit. There is nothing wrong with having choices of what server to go to but when you start playing sides without all the facts and talking people's servers down your not helping any situation.
I have always appreciated your hard work and admire your talent in creating the Q2 mod and the standalone which I've enjoyed over the years but it's not smart to play sides without complete facts or really at all.
You want EVERYONE to like and want to play the game, NOT just the few select. The gaming world will NEVER be perfect and there will always be "bad apples" in ALL games.

The other day i joined a graffiti server because it was playing midnight which is an EXTREMELY rare occasion and i didnt want to miss it. The score was something like 5-40 and I was playing against multi and a few others. By the time my team and i had brought the score to something like 45-49 i had been accused of hacking multiple times by multi. In what would become the last round of the game, i was bringing the opposing teams flag back to cap to clench our victory, but while on the bridge multil8tor viewgibbed me so his team won. This is the kind of behavior that happens frequently on graffiti servers. Although this is irrelevent to the story, afterwards, Cy told me he had been on graffiti's ventrilo server and had listened to multi ranting about how much of a hacker i was. Although this is off topic, i use build13 and to my knowledge there aren't any hacks for it. BoB, the person you abuse the most, uses alpha9 which is equally un-incriminating.
I think the best way to settle any disputes would be a nice rant-free match.

basically this will be a never ending dispute, jitspoe works hard to give us a free mod to play and frankly for people to be ungreatful for the hard work he puts into it for us to make his creating more elegant, but more user friendly. further more comparing the er33t servers to the gt servers is rediculous, never in the time of er33t had people been banned for playing. as it is not out of the ordinary to accuse someone of hacking, as it is a regular occurence by the 2 inchers that are disatisfied with their size and feel the need to take it out on players that are merely better then them. as far as cliques are concerned, cliques happen in real life, so why not a game, people get along with certain people on this game better, it might not be the fact that were all in one clique, its just you have decided to place yourself away from everyone else having your very own one man 2 incher club for older men. thank you very much have a nice day come back anytime soon, and thanks mom, dad 2 inch wiener

Okay, I think I need to throw my 2 cents in this ;)
I've been banned/viewgibbed and called a hack enough times on GT's servers to drive anyone away from them. Snipen, Picasso, and pretty much anybody with the advantage of admin status at the graffiti servers seem to really have deep mental scars that make them have to seem superior to others in a VIDEO GAME. Agreeing with Jitspoe, I've seen atleast 3 people in the IRC channel a day complaining about being kicked, viewgibbed, banned or harassed on the servers. I was going to purchase a server from Graffiti, Or atleast help them pay, but the harassment and lameness on the servers made me find out that Apex servers, even thoough slightly laggy sometimes, is a much friendlier environment to play at, which pretty much slapped me in the face when looking where to get my server from. If Graffiti would starighten up and update the servers, get rid of the enhanced viewgib and lllama admins, they would be a very nice place to go and play, but until that day, GT is the lamest, most disrespectful team and server hosting group that I've seen in this game in the years upon years I've played.

Yes, I realize that there are two sides to every story, but it isn't until now that any graffiti admin has bothered to contact me. I did try to contact Snipen before removing the servers, but the email in the server info did not work. At least now I have somebody's attention over there. In all the time that the graffiti servers have been of the list I've had a whopping 2 people dispute my decision, as opposed to the 50 or so that kept asking me to do something about the admin abuse. I think it would have been irresponsible of me NOT to do anything. I'm not convinced that I made the wrong decision. There's a certain amount of trust that has to be placed in server admins -- they basically control the game, for better or for worse. I've lost that trust in the graffiti admins. The fact that this is even an issue disappoints me. :\

The only person I have kicked and banned lately is Bob and it was because of his repeatedly coming onto the servers and talking excrement. The only people I ever kick are idlers and excrement talkers. I don't personally kick anyone just because they play good but have seen it as well... I don't agree with that and am sorry it happens.
You guys really spend a lot of time complaining when your constantly guilty of screaming HACK CHEAT Blah Blah Blah... If not in the game, on IRC... Get a life and if you don't like it stay the hell off our servers. Like Holiday said this could be never ending so let's end it.
It is clear that a few of us may never learn to play together but there are still a great many old and new that do.

Wow, What a bunch of crap.. I havent said anything much about this whole thing... But here I go... First of all, I have always tried to treat everyone with respect and treat everyone the same.. I have in times past kicked a few that where causing trouble in the server and have viewgib a few along the way that were idle.. I do not agree with this whole thing..Everyone fussing, over what??? People should have a right to go to whatever server they so choose.. This is a game after all... It is supposed to be for fun and enjoyment not cause stress and anger and hurt feelings... Sounds like that everyone should calm down and treat each other right... Love your paintball friend... As for the kicking ppl from the server.. well hun, if you dont act right or cause probems for people on our server then you will be kicked... All we have asked from anyone is to be nice and treat everyone with respect... and please do not use any hacks such as speed, aim, clear walls and what ever else is out there.. As for me, I use nothing, no hacks at all.. I try to play fair but I have had to kick some that had speed hacks.. Dirty Taco you made an accusation and described what is simply an out and out LIE in your post concerning me... I've played one game with you in the past 3 months which was the other night. Shockingly we didn't even argue about anything that night. Sharon asked you when and you can only come back with disrespect? We have both agreed that we have seen Snipen and some in the past do things we may not condone but tell the truth for God's sake. All we can do is apoligize for things like that happening but we don't have control over anything but our own actions. Again, if you don't like it there, don't come. We go on the servers to play the game and have fun. You guys come on to talk trash to the people on the servers and make demos of admin kicking you and scream "wallhack" anytime anyone kills you?? LOL You guys must lead a very boring life. Start up your own server on your own machine, join it with 2 instances of the game nameing one player the person you dislike such as myself and the other DirtyTaco and get your gratification on your own time otherwise just stay off Graffiti servers.

What I do not like is Trouble Makers... DT, me and you have a different view of what a trouble maker is i guess.. Trouble Makers are those who come into the server running their mouths saying bad things to each other.. Putting down a person for what ever reason they can come up with..someone who just wants to hurt the other guys feelings.. When I ask someone not to do that or be nice and they tell me to go to hell, then what am I to do?? As a responsible adult and with ops I ask them to be nice and warn them if they do not stop I will kick them.. I give warnings first.. and when they come back and calll me a female dog, very *friendly* person and whatever else that is degrading, I will kick them...Why should I help pay for a server for other ppl to come in on and play for free and then be put down and cussed at like I were nothing.. If not for Snipen and the rest of us that have paid for this server, you all wouldnt have had paintball there for a while to play ... Again I say... Enough is Enough.. Grow up, Be kind to one another... There is enough war going on with out making war over a game.. Treat each other right.. Treat each other like you would want to be treated.. It's not like Jit removed them from the serverlist just because they're running an outdated version. As he said, it had a lot to do with the fact that they use their admin powers to abuse the people who come to play on their servers. They claim to run the servers for the enjoyment of the community while at the same time seem to glean some sort of sick pleasure in ruining the fun of the game for many who try and play there. Taco's tale of getting viewgibbed to prevent him and his team from winning is -NOT- an isolated incident. I've had it happen to myself on more than one occassion. Not always to prevent a win, but often to prevent me from capping or simply because I killed Snipen one too many times. For Sharon to deny that this sort of thing goes on except when someone is idle or acting out of line is laughable. Sharon you claim we should get over it and just play the game and have fun, but how can you have fun playing a game when you're constantly being punished for no good reason? Unprovoked kicks and viewgibs prevent people from taking being able to take your advice.

To your credit Sharon, you are one of the better admins when it comes to this sort of thing. Unfortunately the same can not be said for some of the others (Snipen being the worst and most obvious offender). Why you won't just get him under control or remove his admin priviledges is beyond me. He's certainly demonstrated that he's not able to use them responsibly.

I think at this point those of you that have a problem with snipen should try to talk to snipen.. Maybe he feels he has a reason the times he does kick or viewgib someone.. I cannot answer for him.. Just for myslef... Just keep your game clean without hacks or whatever you may be running ( that is for everyone who uses hacks, etc)... I can only ask that it start there and maybe then we can have a good game..Let's all try to work on this problem and get it resolved.. thanks again

I probably have participated in the forums less than half a dozen times... but this one needs another opion.
First off let me say graff servers did not "save" PBall. Other servers were still running, and I'm sure more would have stepped up if needed. Graffiti<sp> did however come through with some quality bandwith servers. I give Mut, Snipen and whoever else credit for what they've donated, but maybe you shouldn't expect others to acknowledge or respect your for it, but to feel good about you've done. Respect is a tricky thing, it's hard to force respect... I'll be the first to say I've donated very little to the game when compared to what I've gotten.
I make no claim of how good I am, sometimes I do good other times I don't. I get called a liner, camper, and cheater way to much for the average player that I am... but whatever.
Mut, I've known you for a long time, latedly you're the first to call "hack" and it lasts all game long. I play with other names quite a bit mostly because after playing for as long as we have people know what to expect from us.
Sharon, you're fair 99% of the time... however, your idea of fair isn't always the same as mine, but you have the power so you win.
Snipen, I was surprised the other day to actually see you try to get someone to remove the GT tag instead of just banning him. It was nice to see, I've been kicked and banned plenty by you and it usually starts out as very little or nothing on my part. (In my opion) I would like to hear what you're take is on the admin abuse or none abuse as you may see it, let us know what you think.
Jitspoe, we ALL apreciate what you and the other developers have done with this.... game. They know who they are far more than a noob like me does. I think a big part of the problem is the respawn time. People have too much time to whine. I know the deadtalk can be disabled but I personally think that's lame.

I've been on the server plenty of times with Bob and Dirty_Taco, they both have contributed plenty to this game with maps and clanning and who knows what else.
Bob's pball skillls took a dramatic jump almost overnight, I give him cuddos for whatever he did. Callling him or anyone a hack or cheat doesn't really matter though, I'll still get in a lucky shot sooner or later.
I'm sure thins is too long for one post so I'll spam it over two.
The only thing consistant in PBall is the whiners....

I have ops on the server... but to be honest I rarely login let alone use them.
To be fair I play regularly with Snipen etc. in public servers and although in the past he made quite a few rash decisions, more recently I merely seen him warning -clearly- before kicking, and then if the abuser persists, tbanning. I have not seen anyone in GT use the viewgib function in a public server since all these accusation and problems came about.
I understand that certain members of GT have made mistakes, wrongly accused people of hacking etc. but more recently a real effort has been made by the whole clan to make the servers a much better environment to play in.
Now I'm not a 40-year-old redneck like you might decide from me being in GT, I'm just a 17 year old guy living in London, and I joined GT because they were the only clan that didn't seem to insult people for ridiculous things such as them not being as good a player as them, even though I noticed some jealousy toward greater player. Of course this is a natural feeling, all humans feel jealousy in one way or another, and although this jealousy has led to stupid acts in the past, I'm sure we could all move on from that instead of just hanging on to it.
It's a new year, I think we could all work together for a new start, and put everything else behind us. No one will ever be completely happy, but that's just a fact of life.
I'll apologise for an structural mistakes in that, because I wasn't really thinking of whole sentences... just kind of typing things out as I thought them.

What i did see was this, taco you were crossing midnights bridge you were about 3/4 of the way going for cap to win with about 3-6 sec left , when you got gibbed , givin the circumstances you and the rest of the world have been pissed too including mut for a little while at least. Ok, a few things:
- Sharon: I want to thank you for being level-headed and responsible as an admin should be. Now just talk some sense into the rest of the admins. ;) Seriously, if you're contributing some of your own money to help support the servers, you should have enough muscle to control more than just your own actions.
- PiCaSSo: If you're going to kick people for running their mouth, that's fine, but learn to control yourself first.
- Disgruntled players: I know it's frustrating getting kicked without a good cause, but be mature about it. Instead of flipping out like a ninja when somebody drops a spoon, confront the admin(s) and state your case. Watch your language and at least pretend to respect them. It's also a good idea to regularly record demos while playing on public servers so you'll have evidence if necessary.
- Just about everyone posting in this thread: The contraction of "you are" is "you're," not "your."
Also, does anybody have contact info for Snipen? I need to talk to him. Perhaps we can work things out.
Oh, and for the record, it's a pain in the butt to maintain all the backwards compatibility necessary to function with all these different client and server versions. It would be much easier to just drop q2 and outdated version support completely, but I don't. I don't want to "force" it on people -- at least not until it's out of alpha. :) I know I've been putting out a lot of releases, but that's because I want the community involved as much as possible, and by not updating and providing feedback, you're actually hindering the development, or at least not supporting it as much as you could.

Oh and another thing - in the past a lot of people managed to get the admin pass as a member of GT leaked it - their admin rights were taken away and the password was changed AFTER we knew about it.
However, I know this will not cover all cases of injust kicking/gibbing, but a lot of the cases were done by people playing under a different alias and then abusing the fact that they had found the admin password.

Seriously, you're old enough to be my father. Comments like that are not necessary, regardless of the situation. I'm aware of this at 19 years of age, when will you be?
When XtremeBain and I ran eR33t Servers, we had few complaints (comparatively). It seems like the abusive administration of GT Servers is a hot topic these days -- obviously it is a problem. To my knowledge there's just two or three people who are actually providing the funds for the servers. So fix the problem. Cut off as many extraneous admins as possible. Problem fixed (or at least muted).
As far as updating the servers to the current build, I’m not as quick to take a side. It seems like removing the most popular (the administration is obviously tolerable for quite a few people) servers from the list just because they choose not to update their servers for a release (in it’s alpha stage) is rather harsh.
On the same token, I feel that jitspoe has been a little quick to push new changes onto the community. Let people have a taste before you force feed them. I don’t ever recall having a sense of what kind of changes to expect with each new build until release. I am somewhat reminded of the change in ball-flight/realism way back in the day. Sure, it makes sense. It was a good choice. The way it was introduced was not. I remember reading in on a conversation where the fact that “people hate change” was used as justification for the mixed criticism. People do hate change… but it doesn't hurt to ask them anyway…

Its all true it's all me and it's all my fault. Now with that being said,
Most times that people where kicked it was for good reasons, but I'm sure there where times people where kicked unjustly , and there has been times people where view gibbed for fun and giggles , and times people have been gibbed on accident , and other times gibbed for what ever reason, and there have been times that some players have joined and started doing things to try and get kicked just so they could say they had been kicked. Another thing too is when someone was idle and were kicked there have been players who have jumped to conclusions and made false statements, but regardless of the reason there will be someone who says it was unfair. I have made it a point to try and be more politically correct in the use of admin options. So my apologies to those who feel slighted or abused.
Ok now on to the server side updates (yes jits contact me, I'm on ventrilo it would be nice if you join me there for a chat.)

As far as removing us from the server list I only hope that Jits will return us to the list and that he feels that I am sincere in trying to run a better server for the paintball community.

Unfortunately I don't have ventrilo installed or a mic set up at the moment, but you can grab the latest linux build off of the files (http://www.planetquake.com/digitalpaint/files.html) page (1.802 (http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planetquake/digitalpaint/pb2_1802_linux_i486.tar.gz)). Of course by the time you get it set up, I'll probably have another release out, but it won't be as critical. :)

Actually, Im glad to see that those words have actually followed his actions. I have been banned or kicked a few times in the past, mostly without any given reason (e.g. for just killing Snipen), but in the last weeks (I'd say beginning when this discussion came up), Snipen has done a lot less bad actions in Paintball. I havent seen anyone being kicked without a prior warning, and with reason, so it looks like he has learned from it :P
I kept on playing on Graffiti Servers because they are more popular and therefore more populated than the Apex servers and just because I use HLSW (Halflife Server Watch), so I had no problems with them being off the server list. I would suggest to Jitspoe to put them back on it, even tho they dont have the newest build installed (I hope the admin abuse was the reason for the removal, not the update, because the latter would be quite childish and many people like the older build).
gj Snipen to admit your faults, not many have the strength to do that.

it's not jokes anymore when it happens repeatedly when an admin is in there...i'm 15, and i'm very surprised you people who call yourselves "adults" even bothing saying anything to me. I think it would be both worth your time and my time to leave me alone altogether.
As for the so called 'jokes', you crossed the line when you taiji, and other who I will not name, were using extreme profanity such as the infamous "c" word, with my twelve year old brother in the server! I try to protect him from hearing these words, and once you find out he's only 12 you say them even more. I'm sick of you're immature ways and it needs to be stopped.
...on another note...there i go getting viewgibbed again by snipen for killing him and almost winning the game..

Jitspoe's new ignore feature should serve you well and maybe he can add a babysitter version that filters out cuss words. Seems like I've seen something like that with DP already... Was that serverside or clientside.
Unfortunately, I'm inclined not to believe you concerning any recent gibbing ect from Snipen... I've seen you many times come on the server bad mouthing them and trying to get people to go to Apex in the past. Maybe you were abused on the server in the past or maybe you did something to deserve it... I don't know because I wasn't there. Hopefully we can move forward and all that has changed.

I have to be an "ADULT" in the Real World so it is definately NOT my primary objective to be one when I come to play this game. I come here to unwind, chat with friends, play the game I've been addicted to for about 7 years now, and cut lose with a nice 44oz Jim Beam Black n Coke
Admin is NOT there to babysit you ADULT or NOT However, I can only speak for the times I'm on the server that if I see it or am made aware of it that those starting crap and causing trouble will be warned and then ejected from the game. I generally warn both sides if there are more than 1 involved and the first violation following gets the boot.

Did anyone else notice that Micro has stopped kicking/gibbing people also? I don't know what his problem was a couple of weeks ago but he was playing like crap and kicking people for pointing it out... actually it was quite funny to see him get so peeved... but as we know Micro can be down 4-15 and climb back to 40-18.
Somehow his name hasn't been included in the admin abusers. Of course the best news is that some other people don't have login, I won't mention tour's name or anything but theres a few that it would be nice to put on perm ignore...
Then there's the kick someone so an admin or whoever can join... not sure how you choose who to kick but it's still lame in my opinion. And yes I know the "it's our server and we'll do what we want" excuse.
Some of the replies seem to be giving Snipen credit for being mature and taking responsibility. I don't see what he said that was so mature or responsible. We all knew he has a heavy finger over the kick/gib keys. I'd rather see him show us a better administration than just saying "It was all me".
Anyway I know I'm not helping but this behind us but after playing today it's obviously not behind us. Please try to remember that you're providing a public server so accept the fact that the public is using it.

Well, guess what... In ANOTHER effort to make the servers better, the PASSWORDS have all been changed as of today. Your right... Your not helping anything... What is it that was done to you recently and how can we remedy the problem? This isn't about giving anyone credit and if you have been playing the servers recently you would know that a concerted effort is being made by Snipen as well as all the present admin to STOP admin abuse. NO KICKS or BANs, at least to my knowledge, have been given withought warning or cause. Please remember that unless your Jesus himself, your NOT perfect either and as much as you and I have heckled each other over the years I'd be suprised to find that you were the idiot that kept coming on with the smart ass names like Try-to-kick-me or whatever that was and repeatedly mouthing off in front of all the DP'ers. At least tonight, that was the ONLY person kicked from Pub 1
Accept the fact that we want an enjoyable place for all to come to play DP and are doing our part to make it better for everyone. What will you do to make it better?

You're as wrong as ususal, Legend was kicked by snipen(itsme) during blitz so sharon or maybe you could join. I also saw a viewgib and a kick for mouthing off... not that it matters but don't lie to me about what's going on when you were right there too. I don't have a demo but you don't believe them anyway, so don't believe me if you don't want to.
Some background that led up to my name... Before you got there, Loial comes on the server and screams about colors. I had been playing several maps with the colors just fine. Then snipen asks me to please change it.. that's fine, he doesn't even bother to spell my name right, but after Lioal overflows a couple of times I change it. Meanwhile, snipen is in the process of telling me I'm gonna be banned... nice. So Lioal plays for like 3 minutes and then leaves... hardly worth changing my name over. Then he comes back on the next map and proceeds to tell me that my name is the biggest problem in pball. Well... my name was fine before he came on and started overflowing... maybe if he didn't screw with his settings it wouldn't happen. My name was "kickemifyoucan" not kickmeifyoucan. I wasn't asking to be kicked and had removed the colors as asked, although others had colors and weren't threatened with a ban.. yet I was still be harassed because I was doing a good job camping snipen. After a bit snipen asked me to change it... it had no colors why should I change it? If you think I was mouthing off then you should have told me, I was trying to find out what it was that was wrong with the name. I saw no reason and apparently nieither did he because he dropped it after I pointed out the were no colors in it. But I changed it anyway. Maybe next time I'll use the nick MutCalledMeAnIdiotAndItReallyHurtMe. I think you're just mad because you've played for seven years, are a lpb and still suck. Since noone is perfect why even bother... if you think I've been heckeling you over the years then you're not the typical pballer... you figure it out.
Another thing I saw on painted forest was snipen do a one-man backdoor. That was nice, even with the reduced jumping height... wish I could do that... I guess reducing the height only works for some of us...
Then TourPro comes on the server harrasing Redx the whole time, now I don't give a rats ass about Redx but tour wouldn't let up and Redx wasn't saying as much as usual. So I told hiim to leave him alone. Obviously it didn't stop him but at least I said something.
You know I ususally am not the one to start problems on the server, but I do tend to react to them, sometimes badly but it's almost always provoked.
You asked me what I will do to make "it" better. What is "it"? If you mean the graffitti servers I'll do what I've always done... play hard and true, help the newbs instead of telling them that they suck. And I'll stand up for myself if I think it's needed.

After several minutes of smart-alecky remarks I ask you to stop and to change your name to something besides a challenge (kickmeifucan) but you continued your verbal berating and crass remarks that's why you where kicked. Then upon your return of belittling banter you where tbanned. It seamed as you where trying to get kicked just to be able to say " I was abused". As I predicted to Picasso you ran straight to the forums to proclaim how you where innocent and your superior skill was the reason
you was singled out and picked on. And sure enough you did, how I was surprised to see that it was you Hobo, I just didn't think you where like that. Makes one wonder why you join up under an unknown name every day and start with the mouthing. As for kicking someone in blitz I kicked an idler whom ever they where.
And as far as "the reduced jumping height" (they where reduced ?) I don't think it should be changed but I haven't done anything like a hack as you are implying. I use build 9(stopped dl new ones by this point), you use what build you like as everyone does. Hopefully Jits will put the jumping heights in the newer builds as they always have been, and not
restrict the jumps that we all have practice to be able to make. I think most will agree choking down the play by height(lower then where they where) and fps limits suck. I'd hate to see paintball slowed to a rpg where you walk up you the player then type I shoot at thee with mine carbine noobth.(lol)

Snipen I was there, it wasn't me that you banned, like I said someone get kicked for mouthing off... if you banned them it wasn't me. Like I said before the name wasn't kickmeifyoucan it was kickemifyoucan, big difference and not a request to be kicked.
I don't remember saying anything to you except asking what was wrong with the name, if I did say more to you then it certainly wasn't a all out verbal abuse. When you kicked me for using the name kickemifyoucan I wasn't saying anything to you, when I came back I said something like: You accidentaly kicked me, don't be scared". I did tell lioal what I thought about his remark because that pissed me off, but if you thought I was talking to you then I don't know what to tell ya... it gets confusing when more than one conversation is happening.

Not likely, as I said I play the game as best I can untill someone says something which needs a response, like this post where mut said graffitti "saved" pball. The difference is I can't kick/ban them even if they deserved it. Normally all I say is some recon, gg or ns and that's about it... so if someones coming on everyday causing crap don't blame it on me.

When I get on Vent and the server is full I always ask if there are any idlers..And if not I wait my turn just like the rest of you... I feel it is unfair to kick someone so I can play.. I have had members come in and ask me to kick so and so in order for them to play.. I only kick idlers and usually it is those who are idle for more than 2 rounds.. If you go idle and say that you are coming back that is fine.. but when I ask you if you are going to play the game and receive no answer I assume you are not there and then you get the boot... I feel that is fair.. I always ask before I kick.. If you answer me then I know you are doing other things or something has came up to take you away from your game.. But to come in and go idle for five to six rounds and not say anything is not fair to those who are trying to come in and play.. Thank Sharon.

Again you have your facts mixed up Hobo... The old color scheme isn't a problem. It works with the Alpha's all the way up to 6 I beleive. It is the newer version's color scheme that causes all the problems.

I came in towards the end of the Tour and RedX thing so if they were calling each other names or whatever, I wouldn't have really noticed as that kind of heckling is pretty much a part of every online game I've ever seen.

I've never claimed Graffiti Servers "saved" paintball However, when Er33t was about to shut down, the option to help them pay for their servers through donations was made available to us but then when we were ready to take them up on the offer they backed out and shutdown. At that time there were NO Pball Servers other than an occasional one thrown up by cable/dsl users. Then GRaFFiTi Servers were started... Shortly after that VCW threw up servers and now there doesn't seem to be a shortage of servers to play on.

I'd also like to hear what your interpretation of hitting on a female player is but then again maybe I don't. I know of CrazyLady, Aura, Bastet(who is honorably serving our country in the armed forces over in Afganistan), Erin, and Sharon who play regularly on DP. It seems my last post didn't get posted... not sure why but all it comes down to is that I wasn't causing trouble.. I thought tour was talking about kicking redx, don't know who the other 2 were.
Sharon if Legend was idle then he should have been kicked from a full server. I've even asked for the idles to be kicked when the server is full so others can get in.

Yes it was me with the quake2 colors that told you it shouldn't effect you. I wanted to see if it did and to let you know to tell me if it did. As far as being ataganistic, I don't think so, I didn't know you were being disconnected or disconnecting. You come and go alot and I pay little attenition to it...
I don't consider anyone on pball a friend, I have made the choice to isolate myself from the pball community for my own reasons.. if the bots were more of a challenge I'd never come online to play. I wasn't gonna respond to this thread anymore but I still think you people are wrong and refuse to admit it, I was changed my name in a timely manner, he asked me to change at the start of a round and told after I was almost ready to grab that I had untill the end of the round to change, however I had already stopped by that point to change when he said that. (if I recall correctly)... it wasn't even a funname name. Just typed in from the keyboard colors with the ctr-k combo. The new names I'm using are from a utility called "gamename". If it doesn't effect you then great... Sometimes I did put the colors in my name just to see who they would effect. So I guess that makes me a bad uncaring person... but wait... I care... about myself only.
Actually there's a couple of people out there that have all the respect I could possibly give to another player, most are noobs trying to compete you "pros" and then there's a couple of others that have always been niice to me no matter how much an excretory opening I've been. .)
So anyway I won't apoligize for doing far less bad things than most, but will try to be a more considerate player because I agree that some of the others are indeed trying.

I know this topic is dead, but i figured i'd say that yesterday the player "dew" kicked me for accidently blocking the bd jump in castle1. I thought this was worthy of a post due to its lack of a good reason for kicking.
Also it seems, now that dew has the login to GT servers, that would put him in three clans. The clan he was originally in and is still in, namely, krew; descendants, who he matched with against cP, and GT given that GT only gives the login to members. I thought that one should note this fact when reading about his quick-to-kick syndrome.

JUs so u know that dew does not hav login to GT servers n in fact he is only in one clan and that is krew.... not all members hav login in GT servers.... Me, (Dye32), Boomer, Damien, PartyPooper does not hav the login for kickin ppl nor map changing... we dont really need the login unless we really wanted it....

GT admin abuse has definetely not have stopped... I DO NOT, want to make things worse then they are.. which this post probably will. Sadly.
So I was playing on the GT servers for once in a lifetime after reading these posts that the abuse has stopped, and thought to myself.. ok.. maybe it will actually be fun.. so whatever... so i go on the server as me. Xile.. and we are playing shazam after a short match to antioch.. A few rounds pass ok, casso is in there, hes all cool.. were playing having fun.. and snipen comes in. Whatever ok.. So i keep playing a few rounds, get a kill on him like twice in a row, whatever, nothing happens ok... So the next round, kills happen w/e, im the last guy on the team with someone else.. we both grab flags.. So we meet in the middle, and i kill the guy, and not even a millisecond after i get viewgibbed. Obviously he was trying to prevent me from killing him. So i go ugh, whatever.. I remember Casso always saying they do it for poops and giggles, so im like w/e, so i say "Not soon enough there snipen :D" jokingy.. then a few seconds after he kicks me.. So i get pissed off ugh.. So i flap my mouth in a buddies channel about them being lame and over 40 and act like 14 in frustration.. So.. someone passes this on to them, and mut pms me alll boogerin and whining about me being a lowlife and crap, and that im starting stuff with them. He also points out that they kick me because im "crap".. This all was actually pretty darn funny..
Obviously, kicking someone because they are "crap" is an acceptable excuse in any given situation. Id just like to point out that, I was very frustrated and angry that it happened liked usual, with me, not really doing anything wrong. I just "jokingly" joking with them, as I thought they were with me also. Obviously, the statement that they do it for "poop" and giggles is is not true, And the comments i made were mainly directed torwards snipen, and snipen alone.. I was pretty much just stating that sharon and mut were over 40 also because someone didnt beleive me. I have huge amounts of respect for Sharon, she has almost been the intercoursing coolest to everyone and stayed neutral while anything was going down. And for MuT, now, I really dont know. I was acting out of frustration just in turn, as does Snipen when he doesnt get his way. So really, I didnt act to the situation any better then he did mine.
I would like to seriously apologize to everyone in GT, for the comments I made towards them. And I will take your advice, and never join another Graffiti server again. And as for apex being crap, some people ping better there, and some ping better on GRaffiti, its about location. Where the user is to the server and vise versa. I ping better on apex, and lag on Graffiti. So I usually play there. Exactly why you never see me playing MuT. And thats where I will play, from now on.

Now, Id like to take everyone's SERIOUS attention away from world war III and make everyone who reads this aware of Internet Bullying. We all have been victims and attackers of it. I for one, have been both at one point. If you stop reading now. You should really get your head checked. There have been a few instances in a few games where Internet Bullying has occured in their "Cirlce" of online buddies where the people have took it to extremes as of trying, and successfully killing theirselves. Not only is Internet Bullying getting more and more rampant, but It is getting out of hand. And I, have seen this firsthand with someone I know, and im not going to disclose who they are, because a few players in dp know me in real life. But when kicking, viewgibbing and name calling goes on, on any server, Im not just pointing this at graffiti because its not the only place it ever happens. Just way more frequently. A few ppl have lost ops to apex for doing so. IT IS a form of internet bullying. As much as a poop and giggle anyone gets out of it, It can still hurt someone emotionally, and cause damage. Yeah, you may think, so what, its a game.. But some people might take it to heart, and im not just talking about being mad about it. Im talking emotionally making an impact on them that could lead to depression. This is the main reason i get pretty mad when stuff like this happens. No, it doesnt bother me really, i just get mad, but it could eventually impact someone to a state of depression. And for all you guys or gals out there reading this, and thinking, OMG, what a loser. You're probably a bully. And I think it would be greatly sad that you would feel that way with such a serious topic.
Id just like everyone to think about this when they are playing, and admins to any server definetely think about this also.
If you have kids, think of your kids being bullied at school, how do you think they feel? If you were bullied at school, think of how you felt. And if you were a bully, think of how they felt.

Instead of always fighting with eachother, lets try and make dp a community that can stand out, and be an example of how games should be. Were not that big, it shouldnt be that hard. As far fetched as this sounds, It CAN be done. If you see bullying going on, say something. Hey man, thats not right. If they start to flame you, contact an admin and it should be properly taking care of. If it is an admin, contact someone with higher authority, if all else fails, go somewhere else. If everyone partipates like someone with a heart. We can make a change, for the better...

The first part, I was explaining "Why" i said what i did about GT.
And to apologize.
The rest was just awareness of something people dont usually think about before they use words, or actions in an certain manner. It's like, going upto someone, and just saying, GET THE intercourse OUT OF HERE, just because you dont like them. Or walking upto someone you dont know, you dont like their shoes, so you punch them in the face. Yes, it might just be the internet, but it could seriously harm someone who is already in depression or clearly approaching it. It could actually push them into it to some extent. When I mean kicking people and viewgibbing that happens. I should have stated that I meant doing it for the hell of it, because someone feels the need to, or they are bored. But clearly, has no good excuse to at all.
I guess I should have been more clear. Admin abuse is everywhere, in everygame that its possible. It has happend on every server dp has had at one point or another. As i stated, apex has had admin abuse also. Im not denying that one bit. But it isnt nearly as frequent as it happens anywhere else, or i dont hear people complaining about it like I do about other places.
This will be my final and last post on this. Just thought I should turn it around with something positive that has meaning. Besides sitting here, and flaming the hell out of Snipen. That has already been done to extremes and apparently had no affect of change. Maybe it made it worse, who knows. But I hope he reads this and thinks about it from someone else's point of view than his own.

Loial is the shiznit. Atleast someone likes to hear both sides of the stories before jumping to conclusions. Loial and Sharon are on the same level.. and i have HUGE amounts of respect for them. And I always will.

Errr, how come it's ok for a member of GT to "try" hacks on a public server? Dye32 was speedhacking, then denied it, then got caught, then said "i was trying it"...hardly setting a good example is it?

i said "wat speed" sarcastically. but i did say i tried it n then deleted it bc it made my comp froze. I got it from RedxKing. Yes it was the only hack i hav ever tried n it is the last. So i admit it . I used a Hack Big Deal first and last. Like no1 else has tried a hack b4. Newayz A member of GT said that he catches me again i will be banned n kicked from the server. He did tell me to turn it off so i did. n thats when my computer froze.

Why try on a public server with people playing (curious) you had to have known someone would booger. Best thing for you to do is find a empty server and try them there, otherwise you know the results, BAD!
Problem number 2 "Like no1 else has tried a hack b4" I am not as motivated/smart enough to hack lke you younglings are and btw poor cop-out. :)
Problem number 3 Newbie be kind enough and log in with you DP name just courtious, when nameing names. This is America.
Problem number 4 GT again is not the main focus of this topic, but cheating and admin abuse is . Please be fair to GT(er's) arnchange the topic name to "Cheats r'us and Abusive Admins" . This thread is a great way to complain about and explain cheating and admin/player abuse but it does not do some of the outstanding non cheating/admin abusing members of [GT] Sharon first and foremost any justice at all Jitspoe.

However again i must point out its not just GraFFiti that abuse admins (lol what ever) or cheats.
Do we have an official complaint topic for online dp abuses and cheats??? If so you need to make them start to use it not this thread.
This topic should be for people who want to make complaints/appeal ban's etc to the Admin about what happened and suggestions how to correct this. Not to vent your fustrations.
Snipen i dont care what you do while your admining/gaming (because I own you) just keep the server from shuting down and dont ever stop being the HUGE ice hole that you are >:( because you are!!!

Dye32 did request permission to test the hack, and continued to use them when denied (because he's an idiot like that). However previously in a server someone asked me for permission to test a speed hack so I let them try it out for a couple rounds. No harm was done and the person merely went to and from their base a couple times (without touching the flag or killing).

It's been a while since I've been here and Wow Jitspoe how fair is it that you make a special subject folder for "GRaFFiTTi Admin Abuse" and then carelessley cram the "GT are teh lame asses" and "GRaFFiTTi Admin Abuse" posts together like this. It would seem AGAIN to me that you purposely trying to put down our servers and play sides. It's also VERYunorganized and hard to understand what is being discussed with the way you have it here.
You guys once complained about the content of one of my posts on here back when I was being accused of being a hack as being childish and something of a disgrace to this forum and the DP community ect... Now look at alot of the posts you've been allowing through just these two posted topics alone. The topic "GT are teh lame asses" alone should have been stricken. Do you condone Name calling and clan bashing on your Forums??? Then posts like Krazie's incident about PGPing... his whole post full of cussing ranting ect... there should be simple rules of respect for ALL people of the DP community on this forum.
While we're talking about admin abuse I visited the APEX servers on 2 different days... Everyone seemed to be enjoying DP as always then Herb, whom I would have never expected to act this way, started saying "whose spiking me out?" Not sure what that means but It sounds likke a ping attack or something. Anyway, he kicked me two times in a row that day without warning and when I asked him why he never gave an answer. He left the server about 5 minutes after that. The next day or so later I went on there again. 5 or so people including myself were playing, everything seemed fine, then all of a sudden Herb started in again with the "whose spiking me" questions. This time he just mass kicked everyone. I will say that is the first time I've ever had a problem on APEX servers but of course I don't go there that often either.
I'll also say that I've been playing on the GRaFFiTi servers regularly and the so called abuse has slimmed down to virtually non existant. NOT totally gone but much better controlled. ALL admin passwords were changed and to my knowledge, very few even have admin passwords or even map changing abilities. In final, the present GRaFFiTi ADMIN has made a great effort to make the servers more enjoyable for everyone in the DP community. I've heard very few complaints personally. Anyway, I'm not wanting to start any trouble here, I'd just like to see a little bit better organization and control here. EVERYONE should be trying to make DP more enjoyable for one another rather than seemingly pitting one against the other, bickering, and whining about every little thing they can think of.

I've been reading a few more of these posts, mainly Xile's 3 latest and I must confess, I was told the things you were saying were directed at me... I became very angry at you and ranted like your proclaimed 12 year old. For that I apologize. I also think your a stand-up man to sincerely be concerned about others as you've displayed with your posts. I'm sorry you were view gibbed and of course don't condone it especially when we're really trying to make things better on the servers. I still say that things have greatly improved compared to what they were in the past.
