Title: Banned from GT?
Post by: James on May 28, 2007, 01:28:05 AM
Can't think of a reason why I'm banned for any reason than I'm better than everyone and go 150-20 everytime I join.

Care to enlighten me?

The only person that was banned tonight was  the guy speed hacking. In the words of Arsenio Hall Things That Make You Go Hmmmm

I think I might be banned too except I didn't think that blocked the website too...
The GT servers don't show up in my list and the website won't load.
Traceroute ends with 15  42.b.5d45.static.theplanet.com [69.93.11.66]  reports: Destination protocol unreachable.
Connecting through work VPN I can see the website.
70.113.53.5 is my current IP if you want to look up it.
I'll try to get my ISP to assign me a new IP but I'd rather find out why before I unplug the modem for an hour.

Maybe not that wide of a range was blocked. I responded in the PM though. It least I'll be able to get on during the week at a different location.

Edit: traceroute stuff added

Trace complete.

Since it's a protocol unreachable error it seems it's blocking at the firewall since it works from other locations.

We always have...

Also, if you have not received your full admin server login, please email me or call my cell and I have your new login password.

At present, Snipen is the only one available with root access to view hard bans but I'm sure he'll be along sometime today or this evening to assist you.

Well the fact that I can't ping the server is more than enough proof that you banned me.

I'm assuming it's a ban cause you did the same to SkateR.

Unless you thought I speed hacked, then my only answer to that is. I am that much faster than everyone.

If it's an in-game ban, then you should still be able to ping the server easily. I really doubt you were literally 'banned' from even COMMUNICATING with the server at such a low level. I'd guess it's something with your ISP.

Snipen!  :P It's driving me nuts not being able to play on the GT servers.  There aren't any others.. EV1 is always empty, OTB pings at 250, and GotMtDEW's server always has DeW people in it.

ICMP traffic is practically shut down on most backbones, hence you *might* not be able to ping the servers regardless.

Wow, immediately after I posted I went to go work out (what I've been doing while Im not on GT) and  I tripped on my CAT6 cable and knocked my DSL modem out of the wall.. I plugged it back in when I got home and now I can get on GT :) :) :D

Lucky... My ISP just kept giving me the same IP.
At least I don't have to deal with it till the weekend.
