Title: Crosshair Problems
Post by: Canada A on June 02, 2007, 05:10:51 PM
EDIT:: PROBLEM SOLVED

I used the GIMP to EXPORT the file as a pcx.

No one has ever been clear about that part.

so you created ch99.tga and placed it in your C:\games\paintball2\pball\pics folder?

Yeah. Saved as .tga and .pcx, and neither worked. I tried em one at a time.

I get that sAme problem with alot of my crosshairs, and I really hate it, because I just know the ones it comes up for are awesome, but I can't use them !
By the way, can someone please post a step by step explanation to making a crosshair, because I have sooooo many sweet ideas I want to use. Or if you don't want to go through the trouble, just post a link to it.
PLEASE AND THANK YOU !!!
(Note: that is not off topic, because it is in addition to my post, which was about me having the same problem with other crosshairs, so please no, "start a new topic" or "that's got nothing to do with this topic" etc.)

I believe Tinman means making the textures square, example 64x64 128x128 256x256 and so on and so forth.

You made it in paint, and what did you save the file as?

You couldn't have created it in paint and saved it as a TGA or PCX, it's not possible.  If you just renamed the file name or something than that's the problem.

*SOLDIER, please stop leeching and spamming other people's thread, just click the new thread button.

If you need a free and easy to use program that saves as those file types you can use gimp: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Really?

So if i tried to save it as ch99.pcx, it would change it to ch99.pcx.bmp?

Because that's what I'm seeing right now.

Paint can save in BMP, JPG, and GIF. You'd have to use Gimp or Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro or something to save as pcx.

= Soldier, Please don't post a bunch of posts about the same things over and over again. It gets really annoying and could get you banned from the forums.

=Juca, can you send me some pictures of your crosshairs. I want to see what you made yours look like if you don't mind thanks.
