Title: Build 19
Post by: jitspoe on June 06, 2007, 03:50:12 AM
You know the drill.  Grab it, test it, and let me know if there are any problems before I make the official installer.

http://dplogin.com/files/clients/windows/paintball2_build019_update_pretest1.zip

This is just a bugfix/tweak release.  Updates build 16+.

This build doesn't have those little annoying game freezes every minute or so. Great work Jits!

Here's the server update: http://dplogin.com/files/servers/linux/paintball2_build019_linux_serverupdate.tar.gz

This is just a patch and does not include any config files or anything so it can be extracted directly to your current install.  It's meant solely to update existing dedicated linux servers.

cd /directory/containing/paintball2/directory
tar xzvf paintball2_build019_linux_serverupdate.tar.gz
Restart servers
Done.

(Note: tar file contains "paintball2" directory, so don't extract directly to your paintball2 directory)

Graffiti and EV1 (I still need to come up with a better name) servers have been updated and it seems to be working fine so far.

I just wanted to point out that the average netgraph seize seems to be lower now.

You mean volume wise, and nothing to do with an actual visible size?

I meant the average surface of it. But never mind.

I doubt it has anything to do with the new build.  Probably just coincidence.

Why is it when I updated the login fails and also it takes longer to load to the title screen?
Title: Re: Build 19
Post by: Eiii on June 18, 2007, 04:05:12 PM
Probably because you username/password reset.

Shouldn't be any different than build 18.  Try creating a new profile.

Oh, and here's the linux client for build 19: http://dplogin.com/files/clients/linux/paintball2_build019_linux_full_pretest1.tar.gz

You can use the full (client) install for a fresh server.  The server update was made so admins could simply extract it over their existing install and not have to worry about overwriting config files.  It's essentially the same as the minserver, except it doesn't include any configs.

Jitspoe never specified what build the feature vote thread was for, notice how he named 2007 feature vote thread.

I think on the next build, when you have a chase cam, you should be able to press some button to switch the guy you are chasing, actually have two buttons. Just a though.
Title: Re: Build 19
Post by: Spook on June 28, 2007, 10:51:18 PM
That's already implemented

Hit P to chase cam

Hit [ to move to the guy

Hit ] to go to the previous guy

all this is on the default config of course

Or, if you get your hands on my menu pack (http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=5169.0), you can just click on "Chase Cam" and the mouse wheel changes the player while one of the buttons (forgot which) changes the camera type.

PS. Just started the next update. :D

That just makes me say chase.

Then it isn't installed correctly. You need to have the config file for the menu.

It is everything else works tell me what it says in configs and i'll just set it to camera instead of chase.
