Since we've got a high-res texture pack kinda-sorta in the works, I want to kick up the resolution where it really counts: the skies. Terragen (http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen) is what I used to make the current skies, and it's great for what it does. It'd be pretty slick to have some 1024x1024 skyboxes. $100 to register it, but I guess that's fairly justifiable. What do you think?

I dont know what your asking :(
But would improve game play with out taxing the avg
vidcard?
-
This is for the high-res pack, not the "average" video card, although, these days, the average card could probably handle the high-res pack just fine.

Be ware the cheap user / users ... open gl addicts. The last was brought to you by a logical fallacy. Look for my q4 post

I want to make all of the content GPL, I'm pretty sure those textures wouldn't be compatible. Besides, I have a digital camera and can make my own very easily.
-
Well, I just registered it. Gonna try to whip up some super sexy high-res environments before dpcon.
-
Will this improve night time / starlight maps?
-
I didn't use terragen for those skies, but I will remake them eventually.

God bless you and your hard work.
