Title: Exporting SKM Models
Post by: jitspoe on May 21, 2005, 08:46:48 PM
I'm about to give this a shot -- looking at the resources necessary to do it.  Here's a tutorial for exporting SMD files from 3DSMAX: http://www.hl2world.com/wiki/index.php/Creating_Characters_with_3dstudiomax_part_1

Looks like the tools needed are here: http://www.chaosincarnate.net/cannonfodder/cftools.htm
Crap... looks like I'm out of luck there -- my 3ds is too old.

Once in SMD format, these will need to be converted to skm using jalisko's conversion utility located here: http://www.quakesrc.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4731

Guess I'll have to update max or find a different tool...

This script works better than the cannonfodder export: http://dpball.com/files/devel/models/dpchar/export/smd_export.ms

A little slow, but it works 100%.
