I've looked around a lot, and I don't think we'll be able to get a decent centralized server for less than $100/mo. Obviously that's a lot for one person to spend, but if we get 4 people in on it, it'd only be $25/mo.
I figure we do something like this:
$25/mo - your very own, complete, 32-player server for matches, public play, whatever you want.
$5/mo - login access to change maps on the pubs.
These servers will be run on the racks er33t used to have, so I'm hoping they'll be top-notch. If not, we'll find another host.
If we get more than 4 people, the extra money will be either donated to help cover server costs of other free projects and/or kept in reserve for situations like exceeded bandwidth, people dropping out, etc.
If you abuse your administrative privileges, your server or login will be terminated.

Jitspoe I am ready to pay, when and where.

I'm in the process of ordering the servers. The easiest way to pay me would probably be through paypal.

My current paypal (jitspoeAyahooDcom) does not allow for credit card payments. I'm going to see if I can set up another one that will.

Can I try it with my account? as before? we have not mailed the check.
-
Yeah, go ahead and try that. We'll see what happens.
-
ok tonight when i get home from work.

yo, where will these servers be hosted? You say, 'centralized', to me that sounds like exactly where I am. Boulder, CO. Hah, I wish I had a poor computer laying around... hmm.... well I do have an extra computer lying around. But... I'm not sure it would produce nice ping results and whatnot for other people. I'm on a comcast cable connection. w/e...

Texas. Where the old er33t servers were. Ping 216.127.68.86 -- that's the IP I got. Hopefully I'll have a test server up and running tonight.

$5/mo - login access to change maps on the pubs.

It's more fun to not be helpful and just tell them to read the topic.

Yeah, that was great -- at one point, there was even a scrollbar on the scoreboard. And yes, it would be nice if some more people pitched in for the server. A lot of people showed interest when I suggested it, but so far loial has been the only one to come through (thanks, loial). The server runs $100/mo, so it would really help if more people got in on it.
-
it had a scrollbar yes but nothing that doesnt compares to the time i added 100 bots :D
overflowed btw.
-
hah thats the new server...NICE

grrrr I did not know This Let me see If I can boost payment from 100 every 4 months to 50 a month or at least 40. The wife wont say no to that.
*edit I assumed we were paying $600 a year for two servers.
