im pretty new to this game but me and my friend jsut want to play a game jsut me and him in our own room. I go to start new game but i have no clue what i need to fill in or what to do after that. Can anyone helo me?

Yeah. How do you find your IP if your friend ISN'T on the same network.
Yes, I know it automatically updates the server list.

hahah Iron... that site isn't too valid in it's response. It says that my ip is 67.173.249.127. But when they trace it, it leads to:
City: Chantilly
State: Virginia
Country: us
and... I'm in Boulder, Colorado... ;)

And for a lan, you should just be able to start a game, and it will show up on the other person's server browser when he hits refresh.

didnt work. When my friend went to the consol and typed connect xx.xxx.xx.xx it just said connecting to xx.xxx.xx.xx over and over again

It's possible that you have a firewall or some other software blocking connections (ZoneAlarm, Norton, etc.)

I was hoping to use gamespy as a way of converting friends to paintball2 via Game spy . all servers but the new evl servers show up, why?

Dunno... they show up in ASE. I thought those used the same master server? Maybe gamespy changed their master server ip -- I'll look into it when I get home.

I just checked and the servers show up on gamespy. Are you sure you updated/refreshed the list?

Yes, on gamespy however I am using q2.exe so i can play other mods. Funny to mention that your test server and all other severs are showing but evl.
Speaking of could you please load all known maps on to my server I am afraid im in over my head with rcon, your remote admin feature is handy but im missing maps that I want on.

Well, the EV1 servers are showing up on both gamespy and ASE, so I think it's something on your end.
And I'll try to get some more maps uploaded soon.

Thank you first of all, i am rambunctious (sweet spell check) please understand my sense of urgency.
I was using game spy arcade 2.0.2 pointing to what i assume is a q2.exe (because i can access your Pb mod as well as other q2 mods), before u blame my end please try my original intentions (i did not metion game spy arcade my apology) or give a perferable game browser settings for game spy arcade so I can access my q2 mods and your DP (ergo "Game with my friends")
More importantly I payed a small amount of money to host what ever version of alpha u want, how ever do to my ignorance i am compelled to ask to help with loading maps on to "my" / "Loial's" server.
Lastly I know your busy (as stated before) please help or find help, getting frustrated my friend.

I was using an old version of GameSpy3D. I can try installing GameSpy Arcade and see if it makes a difference, but they should both be using the same master server, so I don't know how it would. Are the EV1 servers still not showing up?
