98SE.... how many new spy/add ware, viruses, Trojan / Worms  are programmed to attack win 98SE/me within the last 5 years vs XP?

When LongHorn and the SBC/Microsoft - OS/Browser is deployed into sbc "U=verse" I will up grade, But till then. Let the lag crashing stupid ass win98SE/me system do its thing over and over and stupid ass over.

I was told that windows NT 2000 does not hurt, but iv read about .net issues that truly suck.

Untill then i want sympathy

"Doctor, it hurts when I do this..."
"Well, quit doing that!"

And I've never gotten a trojan/worm/virus/spyware/adware on Windows XP -- pretty much the only way you can get those is through user stupidity/ignorance or using internet explorer (which really falls under user stupidity/ignorance in most cases), and there are probably more vulnerabilities in win98 anyway.

jitspoe I got a kernal crash differnt a hard crash, is there a windows issue here or a backwards thingy?
Title: Re: BUG?
Post by: jitspoe on June 28, 2005, 02:08:32 AM
A kernel crash simply means that windows 98 sucks.  ;)

But seriously, unless you can find specifically what causes it, it's going to be hard for me to fix it.

I dont expect you to fix a windows issue. aNY IDEA THAT IS ALL
Title: Re: BUG?
Post by: Eiii on June 28, 2005, 04:43:42 AM
The issue is a windows issue.
Title: Re: BUG?
Post by: jitspoe on June 28, 2005, 01:27:13 PM
Well, it could certainly be an issue with paintball that is simply more prominant on win98 for whatever reason.  It could also be a whole slew of other things, like driver bugs or bugs with windows itself.  It's really hard to say.

Post by: loial21 on June 28, 2005, 07:36:39 PM
The issue is a windows issue.

Really? So why is this the only q2 mod or program I use this happens in?
Title: Re: BUG?
Post by: Eiii on June 28, 2005, 08:31:32 PM
Becasue its the q2 mod least like q2.
Title: Re: BUG?
Post by: loial21 on June 29, 2005, 12:27:49 AM
I was using the alpha which is still q2 ... and this q2 mod is the only program on my computer crashing, besides AAO which is well known driver issue that has been identified to the point you can submit a bug report.

Post by: jitspoe on June 29, 2005, 12:36:26 AM
The alpha which is still q2?  Do you mean you are using the alpha standalone or the quake2 mod?  If it's the standalone, is it only build 14 that crashes?
Title: Re: BUG?
Post by: loial21 on June 29, 2005, 12:57:19 AM
alpha is the only thing that causes this
