Title: Your ISP and Download/Upload Speed (if you know it)?
Post by: KiLo on August 21, 2007, 08:24:33 PM
Just curious to see what everybody has and this could probably help development of the game possibly too.

I have WOW - Wide Open West (strange since I live in Ohio)  I have 6 MBPS download and 1 MBPS upload.

Thanks KiLo,

I'm actually working on getting the equipment for a cellular repeater here at the house.  That would allow me to:

1. have cell phone service
2. Use my EVDO RevA wireless card and get some decent internet access.

LOL the speed tests that post MS data are more accurate for gaming.
There was a specific problem between two of the large trunks from Georgia to West Virginia one time. Although I still tested as getting as good or better than my advertised UP/DOWN, my latency was terrible. I pinged over 1000ms to Texas, where I usually ping in the mid 30s.

This is where those criminals try to get you. They guarantee 3MB, or whatever, but don't guarantee latency.

Just got a new internet connection yesterday... Though, I'm still on a crappy WLAN since I'm lacking a cable to the router at the moment.
