OK I've had mIRC for four days now and i know how to work it except for scripts(but don't worry about that part), and on the first day it worked fine and the next three days have been hell. It can never connect and it says unable to resolve server, wait!, ill put what is says below:
* Connecting to Global (6667)

* Unable to resolve server
-
* Connect retry #1 Global (6667)
-
* Unable to resolve server
-
* Connect retry #2 Global (6667)
-
* Unable to resolve server
-
* Connect retry #3 Global (6667)
-
* Unable to resolve server

* Connect retry #4 Global (6667)
-
* Connect cancelled
^^Then I just disconnected.
Anyways I need help on how to fix this. Cough, with detailed directions please.

make sure your ports are open too... right click and run as administrator

Nothing. You just have to wait 5 seconds at the register screen.

You dont have to use Mirc anyway
there are multiple irc clients find one you like
and downloading a keygen is pretty much not a good idea legally
because its theft (my reasoning your supposed to pay for a key so using a keygen is taking a key without paying for it)

I keep disconnecting from irc when I'm not around
I just want to idle in my channel(ab-t,ab) but it disconnects.
Any way i can make it so i stay on all the time????
example:darkness is always on, he idles, so why cant I?
I don't have the on line timer one btw.

ok eff this. for v6.2 where is the reconnect upon disconnect setting?
yes i looked and obviously i was unsuccessful at locating it.

Under options go to Connect then to Options and there should be a check box that says reconnect on disconnect.

happen to know why it disconnects me

Could be a variety of things: software malfunction, ping timeout, no route to host and the list goes on and on.
