This is an undocumented entity that I figured I should point out. It's pretty straightforward. Make a brush entity with the classname func_getoutofjail. If a jailed person touches it, he becomes a live player again. You can also have a sound associated with an escape with the "noise" key, for example "noise" "player/wee.wav"
Useful for making jails with jumping puzzles that you can escape from, or even doing jailbreak style maps.
-
Put together a sample map for it, too:

-
is there some way that instead of the eliminated person being the one that touches the button and gets out, the one that touches the button is a non-eliminated person and a eliminated person gets out.
-
It isn't a button. It's an invisible trigger. You could put it just outside of the door to the jail and have a button on the outside of the door that opens the door.

Jailbreak for Q2 was sweet, the Q3 version just never did it for me. Hell Q3 just sucked all together. A jailbreak map for dp would be cool. You could even make it so when a player is freed form jail, he still has to make it back to his base in order to be alive again..... So who's up for makin a map?
-
Hmm, I'd have to make some team-specific func_getoutofjails then, but it could certainly be done.
-
Do it. NOW!!!!
:P
Also, make it so you can choose weather it'd be like he just respawned or if he's just back in play.
-
I started a crappy map to test this baby boy out. Only problem is there aren't team specific buttons (you can open your own jail and let the other team out), and if someone alive gets thier idiot self stuck in the jail the round won't end until people start respawning. I guess I could make the jail physically inaccessable to alive people..... Ill attatch the map later when im home.
-
Team-specific buttons/doors shouldn't be too hard to do. I should add that. I think it's somewhere on my todo list already. ;)
-
Done.
-
where is the map cause that sounds sweet..>?
-
MAP!! MAP!!!
-
dont we need the entity for dp so we can play a map?
-
Does "done" mean it will be in the next build? That would be sweet..... I forgot to upload the map yesterday, I'll try to remember today after work.
-
Well, it's done for func_door and func_button -- any other entities that should have it? And yes, done means it will be in the next version.
