Can you add somewhere in that list to make the file name of the map all lowercase since most PB servers run Linux?

I think a few bits need more exposition as they are a bit vague:

- GPL and restrictive licences, I doubt a lot of people will really understand the ins and outs of this, I know I don't.
- Recommended max r_speeds values (im thinking about 4000-4500 absolute max for current systems, and thats on the high side).
- can brushes have 200 sides? i thought the limit was 32, or was this just hyperbole?
- what format and details must a mapinfo file contain? a little guide would be nice.
- I'm afraid I don't know what a Locs file is.

otherwise, good job!

They're pretty simple, just look at one of the many examples at http://dplogin.com/files/maps/mapinfo/

- I'm afraid I don't know what a Locs file is.

thanks, but my intention was that the page be changed for future users, not my own edification! I think for the mapinfo, it would be handy to get a list of keys and values that can be used, and a link to the loc page for that part or something.

Make sure that jumps impede the playability of the map for less-skilled jumpers

dumbest tip ever.

Make a not eabout adding clip brushes to object sides ( ie.. ladders) so that you don't get hung up on one.

I would also talk about poly count while testing.

'autovotes' means that the map will receive votes automatically at the end of each map.  For example, any map in the rotation receives one vote each new map.  Every player vote is worth 5 votes and can only be cast once per map.  When autovotes is set to 0, it means that it receives no automatic votes.

I assume autovotes defaults to 1 if you don't include it?

Ensure the filename of the map is all lowercase (for case-sensitive filesystems) and does not contain spaces, dashes, periods, or other non-alphanumeric characters.  Underscores are OK.
