Server Discussion / seeing server settings

Is there any command that shows you the current gun temp, ball speed, or gravity (maybe even gren counts, elim times, and bot skill) when you're in someone else's server?

I could obviously figure out a lot of that while playing, but a readout would be handy...

Help and Support / internet issues

Right now I'm bumming a neighbor's wireless connection for internet access.  The problem is that the internet goes in and out and lately has not been part of the connection.  ie. I can always connect to a local or limited connection, but only rarely will the signal be connected to the web.  Is there anything on my end that's causing that?  (signal strength is not the issue, I'm pretty sure)

Anybody know how to set up a game with a direct cable between 2 computers?  I've tried a few different things, but I know it's possible with a cat5 crossover cable.  I also am thinking that vista is difficult to connect wth XP.
hit me with some knowledge...

Help and Support / script question

So I just got a new laptop, and I installed build19 on it and I've noticed that somehow when I turn the volume wheel down on the front of the laptop it takes screenshots.  So I keep getting like 10 of the Main Menu every time I start, because I adjust the volume down.

I can avoid all that, but does anyone know why or how that got bound?  Or better yet, how do I make it stop?

Resolved Help & Support / Scores issues

Is there a server-side setting that blocks the scores menu?  This happened to me the other day when I joined a game.  I couldn't see any scores, and I also couldn't see the line across the middle of the screen that comes up when you kill someone and/or are killed by someone.

Is this a build16 issue?

Paintball 2 Discussion / music menu

ok here's a music menu I made.  Use this if you want to have a select and play menu for music in the game.

1. download the menu and put it in pball/menus
2. create a new folder in pball/sounds called music.
3. put all the music clips you want into pball/sounds/music, but make sure they are .wav's
4. copy all the music you just put in the folder and paste into pball/sounds (with the other random sounds that get put there)
5. bind a button to menu music, and you're ready to go in-game.

notes:  don't hit play on a song while another is going or they will play on top of each other.  The game is not set up to stop sounds in-progress (I don't think), so once you start one, it will play to the end of the song.  (unless you start a song and then start a game - starting a new game will kill whatever sounds are going.)

let me know about bugs and such.

don't worry I'm not going to ask how you guys get those colors in your names...

I am curious what it means when it says:

flags can only be a 'u' or an 'a'

This usually happens when I'm trying to put a space in between {appy and Hamper.
Am I doing something wrong?

I realize that Zorch has given us a menu for starting maps, but I still have several in each letter.  I dumped a bunch in, and removed a bunch, and put more in... So now in each category they are out of order.  What I'm asking is: How do I re-install with all my maps, so that they are completely alphabetical?

I put a large menu script into mine, and it gives me a "overflow" message when I load my config. in the game.

Paintball 2 Discussion / Config ideas

I've been trying but without success to make a bind that changes my jump from SPACE to mwheelup. Mostly because double jumping would then require no talent whatsoever from me.  I've tried scripting it with an alias so I can go back to SPACE and use the wheel for other things.  I also tried just setting the "jump" to the wheel in the controls menu and that doesn't work either.  Is there something I'm missing on this?

I also tried using mwheelup/down to vary between automatic/semi-automatic where semi-auto is normal shooting, and auto is click to start shooting and click again to stop.  I've seen that referred to from another guy here, but the script is not yet working.

Why are my maps all out of order?  They are all in order in the maps file, but it takes me forever to find the map I want in-game.  (I have a ton of maps)

Does anyone know how to display messages on your opponent's crosshair at the start of every round?  Some guy was doing it to me, and I've never seen it referred to or anything.

Anyone know how I can connect to a network (that I am not on) to play paintball?  I know I can connect to a specific computer in the network, but if I could see everyone hosting a game on the network it would be helpful.

(I ask because I can play in my dormitory network but not in other dorms.)
