Well then it couldn't be boxing or UFC, you can tell who's leading in either by their stamina and how many hits they're taking or giving, but you can't tell a win for sure unless there's a K.O. or tap out.

Since dpball and Tremulous are both ALREADY mods, I'd say you should make something off an actual base engine, e.g. Quake II or Quake III.

What kind of mod are you looking to make? It really depends on what the game will have in it what engine you should use. I've been using Qfusion for a lot of stuff lately, it's pretty leet for a Quake engine.

SX-64 isn't a mod, it was actually made and sold by Commodore. Someone ripped one open and put a mini-itx in it though: http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/sx64/

I love ET:QW. The maps get boring after a while and you have to switch to another game as a break, but I'm glad I bought it. I have to say that id Software and Splash Damage found a way of making vehicles not suck in an FPS, and that's the first time I've been able to say that.

We have a Quake 3 server up and running titled "[ACACA]" right now, training for QuakeCon on it with CPMA (Pro Mode Q3). A lot of the people who join it while we're goofing off don't speak English xD
