well, some speedhacker took a excrement on the record book.
That, and the server wont show up in jits's serverlist...this is becuase I have to use the jumpmod file that has the serverlist addy encoded inside, and I dunno how to change it....so until Jits and the dudes from Jump get together and share a lil code, it wont workout.

ping jumped about 30ms at all servers...accuallly started playing this game with 70 ping....then 80 for a while...now its 105...
youve turned me into a angry excrement-talking aliased pub-hermit.

Dunno if this is in build 17 or 18 but there should be a FOV option....definatly the only thing newbs should be informed about.

other then that, why mod DP? k maybe blue is SLIGHTLY more visible.

I agree with yootz...the source codes been out for how long now? ...that being said, there should already be enough people in DP that know the console commands, to teach the newbs...or whatever. Ive been playing q2 for 7-8 years now and havent changed much.. "fov" and "gl_modulate" and a few things to maximize framerate, is all I can think of...all of these I learned in my first year or 2 of playing.

yeah play your own music..

For next version I think you should have your own sounds, to be professional about things. Not real sounds though cuz dp is more of an animated style game, not real life Ya kNo?.....I think the sounds should be somewhat cartooney? but not acuall cartoon sounds like you have now lol. Just me pennies..

Ehh...used to use q2e a while back until r1q2 came out..
Dont see what its gonna do for jump anyway..

If you want the textures and maps my server is running check these links...but otherwise, all textures and maps can be loaded right from me.

Started hearing those soundclips in my sleep man...had to delete em....plus I think it blocks the sounds you should be hearing like the enemies footsteps or their jumps. I think ill replace my sounds with kung-fu movie samples :]]

Fixed. Didnt know '+set game jump' had to be before exec server.cfg.  :-X

As far as files go....jump doesnt really have any. Theres the spawn point and the finish point, which I took out anyway. The rest is just map textures. Im hosting off a home connection so I think ill pass on having 12 yo's on dial-ups all day download garbage from me.

Its just like going to any other dp server...you connect and download a map if you dont have it. simple. I removed what little files jump had anyway. The ONLY file other then map/textures is the 75kb jump.wav

I can host the male and female models from q2 if u guys dl the files...the only other file u might need form q2 is pak0 which is a good 175 megs. Itll fix the distorted textures..thats it though it think.

whatever..the way i see it is...im not touching anyones file directories, its 99% compatible and dpers like it, so intercourse it?

All those missing files are really unessesery really which is why I took them out. The mod gives players q2 models but I removed them, leaving clients with skinless dp models. Which, imo is good for clients in reconizing that theyre playing a modded game.

Figure no one needs to see or downlaod the Railgun (finishpoint) ...plus I peronally think the spinning white diamond is sexy :]

eiii, im running server with paintball.exe but using jump.dll. Suprised at how well they work together...only thing that im eager to fix, is somehow blocking certain msg terms... Im getting sick of people spamming "scoreon""scoreoff" every 2 seconds as a result of clashing client cmds....thats rly the only thing getting on nerves.

mapvote, boot, addtime, and the ranking system make it all worth it imo.  :D :D

Hey yall, just letting you know my dedicated Jump server is up and running!  For those who dont know what a jump map is....its basically a map with various obsticles like ramps, ladders, and things to doublejump...an the point is to make it to the end of the map without falling. Players with the fastest times automatically get their names put in a server record book (15 fastest times for each map)

First thing youll probbaly notice when you join the server is the scores buttons doesnt work (tab)...this is becuase this server runs on different comands....now dont go changing your configuration....its NOT MUCH different then regular dp. Heres a list of new commands that you can use in my server:

!help................gives you  list of server commands
inven................brings up Main Menu
score or playerlist...brings up playerlist and scores
!stats...............use this to see your personal stats and server ranking.
team easy or team hard..join the easy or hard team
replay..............watch a video of the fastest time in map.
store...............creates savepoint (team easy only)
kill...................starts you at begnining (use on team hard)
maplist...........see a list of maps on my server
mapvote........example: 'mapvote dopjump'  to propose a map change. (use 'yes' or 'no' to vote)
boot ............example: 'boot 1'  will propose a vote to have player 1 kicked form the server.

So yeah, those are all the main ones....use !help or go into the command list found in 'inven' to see the full list.

Be advised that my server DOES NOT SHOW UP IN DP's SERVRLIST so you will have to connect to my server manually by typing in the console "connect 66.222.245.41"

First, sorry Jits to Xbain for all the PM,s I didnt realize you did the dirty work in forums. winks

k, I found inside the myserver.cfg, 2 different adresses for "setmaster". Is it only limited to those 2 or can I add more addresses?? Im trying fo figure out setmaster because im trying to troubleshoot my server, which is up, and people can connect to it, but it just doesnt wanna show up on the serverlist most of the time (for others). 

I did all the router settings properly both in 'virtual server' and 'port trigger' .....I dunno if that has to do with this but one thing I noticed is that when I connect to my own server as a client, it says my 192.168.etc. IP adress....but for the people I know who have connected to my server manually, the IP they HAVE to use is my external IP 66.222.245.41
Could this part of why my server doesnt wanna show up on the serverlist? im only barley scratching the surface at begginer networking as you can see but I think my server is coming along pretty efffin good so far...Ide like to learn more though....come by and jump a map! I hope thatll maybe encourage you to help me then get it on your serverlist!  :)
ps.minimal to no downloads other then maps and textures.

YES. On my comp the obs physics are definatly different. For example in obs, in pbcup, I can jump from floor to top of V from the slanted land...in game I cant.

Maybe obs mode is the games TRUE psyics without the affect of netplay lag??

30ish fps will help you with triple jumps..

i knew nothing of fps till a few months back but ive heard that lower fps helps with triple jumps but i was so used to doing it on my default (200+) fps that it only seems to hurt instead of help when i lower my fps

few more requests..

1. I think it should automatically go to chasecam after you die.

2. I also think you should have the same physics in obs mode as in the game so you can practice without the extra gravity. Yes, its kinda fun feeling like your flying through the map in obs, but when you go back to the game it makes your feet feel 50 pounds heavier =)

3. Should say when a player has changed his name imo.

Also...dunno if this has been mentioned...but when you're in chasecam, theres a major lag on the player's name when switching through players...for example, I'll "]" to the next player but the name will remain of the previous player for a few seconds... Kinda sucks when you want to spec a specific player.
