That's right! Another cup! This cup is the first of many Liquid Nitrogen hosted cups for DP2.

This one's kind of more on the American side though... Sorry Europe.

The next one of our tournaments (|-210| Cup #2) will be more European based.

FORMAT: 2v2, 10 MINUTE TIMELIMIT, DOUBLE ELIMINATION, BEST OF 1, FINALS BEST OF 3, STANDARD MATCH RULES

NOTE: ANY CHEATING, HACKING, OR ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. THE VIOLATORS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE CURRENT TOURNAMENT AND ALL FUTURE LIQUID NITROGEN TOURNAMENTS. SO, THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.

Matches can be played at anytime throughout the day after the start of the tournament. Remember, the tourney starts at 18:00 (6 PM).
You MUST be on either the IRC or TS3 channel above 10 minutes BEFORE the tournament starts, and stay on either one to post a tourney admin your scores.

Feel free to spectate! But if the players are complaining, you will be kicked if you don't leave when told to by a server/tournament administrator.
Also, please talk in TEAM CHAT when you are observing. Only communicate out loud in observer when the rounds aren't going.

There is a reason road signs are never in all-caps (at least in the UK) .. humans have proved to identify lower cases better than all caps, the same principal goes for locs and that is why 6 is the best. I will recognise 6 faster than 1.

Yeah, there has been a fair bit of typography research into the topic of uppercase/lowercase legibility. The argument has long been that lowercase is easier to read because an additional cue is provided in the form of the letter sequence contour. However, it seems that jury is still out on this one, or at least that there is no black and white answer. This source (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2016788/) suggests that when the viewing distance is sufficiently great, there is an advantage for uppercase.

A big thank you to Lazers for taking the lead in running this tournament. Thanks to JMR and Clipz for providing servers, as well as to everyone who participated.

We learnt quite a few things from running this cup which will hopefully help us improve the quality of future tournaments.

The more people making an effort for this game the better. I feel quite pleased that my tournaments inspired you, keep at it man!

The more tournaments that occur, the better. As long as the quality is up to scratch. :-)

A few notes though lazers, a few suggestions
I'd alter the maplist a bit more to fit 3v3, the maplist from sPec's tournament was tailored for 2v2, thus some smaller maps aren't suitable for 3v3. For example, rallyr_b1 and
greenpark_b4 do not really fit in.

Also, the neon green background for the details section, doesn't work well, could potentially hurt eyes.

More people will gradually sign up for the cup as it gets closer to the starting date.

Thanks for the advice and kind offer, JMR. You make a very solid point about selecting maps that are better suited to 3v3. Lazers and I will discuss this further and revise the map list accordingly. We are open to suggestions, including that provided by FusSioN.

You can use prozak servers, i can set more for the tourney as well.

Also I can fix rallyr_b1 as well and make it so you spawn with guns for this tourney. Also wont be random barrels.

Hmmm...

Lazers actually displays excellent grammar for a middle school student. No need to be insulting about a minor and uncharacteristic slip-up.  

That aside, I do like your idea about organising the in-game ranking table by number of captures. Perhaps an alternative idea might be to add another column for points scored (X points for capture, Y points for holding flag when all members of the opposing team are eliminated). Most players on the popular public servers are solely interested in K/D. If the collective focus of attention shifted towards maximizing team points, the game might become a bit more engaging for experienced players.

But still map voting comes up. Why is this?

Hmm, it's almost certainly just the power of suggestion, but I've had a couple of incidents just recently that in retrospect could be attributed to a change in the physics engine. I doubt it changed though.
