Just found out she cheated on one of my best friends. He was in an e-relationship with her, bonafide girlfriend-boyfriend status, getting close to about to visit her. Then she goes silent a week and he finds some dude on her tumblr who claims she's "his girl" and has a screenshot posted of her texting him including "Babeee!"

If I was going to significantly monetize paintball, I'd take the existing GLS and implement purchasable in-game perks. Ideally the kinds that don't alter gameplay. Get people to give you $5 for some extra content instead of $0.10 for converting on an adware install, $0.05 which goes to you. That sort of thing. Just a standard freemium model -- works for plenty of other games.

As mentioned a while back, I live with DT now and we've pursued a few startup ideas, but this is the only one that has stuck. It's essentially an overview of your city in Google maps, mashed up with tweets from bars (or more generally, alcohol-serving venues). It solves a problem we face every Friday and/or Saturday -- where do we want to go out tonight?
Today we're launching the closed beta of www.BarBird.com. We service 12 cities to start:
Portland, OR
San Francisco, CA
Los Angeles, CA
San Diego, CA
Austin, TX
Houston, TX
Miami, FL
Atlanta, GA
New York City, New York
Chicago, Illinois
Boston Massachusetts
Las Vegas, Nevada
I expect some load problems since our web servers decided to start magically ignoring requests today, but hopefully you'll be able to get in and check it out.

I remember one "feature" where you could grab other players a la HL:2's Gravity gun. I was in noclip spectator mode and pulled someone outside of the map. He got stuck in a wall.

You might want to try getBytes("US-ASCII"). I think the default encoding is UTF-8 and those 0xFFs may be getting encoded using UTF.

I imagine you've already found something that works for you, but it would be easier to locate potential problems or rewrite queries if we had just the database schema that we could populate with our own dummy data.

You can create all the awesome menus, media, and client modifications you want, but you are eventually going to smash your head into the closed source game code.
DP's development is definitely not being held back by its community. ViciouZ, XBain, sk89q, Zorchenheimer, and the others I've forgotten to mention all put considerable time into making DP better. They all run into the same wall.
Eventually you get fed up trying to help a closed-source game.
