Happy birthday DP, fun times. Brings me back to the software mode days. I don't think any game has or ever will come close to creating such a tight knit community of players. Many thanks go out to Jit, Cal, and everyone else involved in the creation of one of the best games ever made.

What the hell is wrong with you people. Still confusing skill with hacks. I never MADE a wallhack, just pointed to one that I knew several people were using at the time. It was only then that people realized there WERE cheats for dp. I'm sure there still are, but "hacker" doesn't cheat (I know this for a fact, no question). I'm pretty sure he picked the name to piss idiots like "madandbored" off. Mission accomplished you dumb a$$. Gotta love retard posts like this though, really shows the maturity level of 90% of the community. Oh and I thought Jit specifically said no posts like this without the proper proof.... this thread really should have been deleted/locked before it got out of control.

Yeah I'm using the BSP1.5 pack. I'm pretty sure the "final compile" batch crashes, but I'll try it again. The map may not be huge, but I think the problem area is the bases because it is very open, and there are a ton of brushes visible. It's not vis friendly at all, but oh well. I'm going to have to resort to more detail brushes if I want to raise the sky and add another path, but I will try. Here's my list fo things to do:

-Create light source for the cave
-Add some lighting and light sources to flag room
-Add color to indicate bases
-Possibly add some obstables to the middle area, and upper pathway (As you can tell I'm not a big fan of excessive barrels, boxes and other useless clutter)
-Raise the sky enough to allow jumping off the highest parts, bu not enogh to allow ridiculous double jumps.
-Widen the middle area in some spots
-Add an additional DSM path
-Correct texture/brush irregularities

All good idea so far, but one problem I'm having is that im hitting the limit of vis numportals or whatever. I had to makes tons of brushes "detail" brushes in order for it to compile right. I also can't preview tha map unless I do a full vis because I get GZ_GetSpace overflows in-game. For a while I just put a huge brush covering half of the map so I could just do a vis and preview changes I made to one side but that's a pain in the a-hole too. I'll work on it when I get some more time, and post a new version or whatever. Thanks everyone so far, and keep the comments coming.

I made that, let me know what you think. Would be cool to test with like 8-10 people if possible. It def looks better than the original, and I think it plays better but I'm going to let you be the judge. Sorry if you can't download because of bandwidth or whatever. Please make actions that benefit the team worth a lot more than pure kill/death. If you're not careful you will just discourage teamplay in public servers more than the game already does on its own. Dunno bout you guys, but I always have more fun playing when the teams are competitive (and fair) and playing for the team win, not the #1 spot on the team kill-wise. I think a smart team balancing system for public servers should be a higher priority than a stats system.... but I can see how the DP community would rather become a bunch of stats wh0res.

I'll have to try it, but isn't it wierd how this isn't documented yet it gives such a huge advantage? It's like a built in cheat that only benefits people who know about it. This should really be included in the options menu so everyone knows about it.

Hey I can't make a new post so could anyone address this:

I was recently playing on a server where the grenades bounced and went off after a specific amount of time (or so I though). The person I was playing against didn't have this limitation. His grenades were exploding on the first bounce, and when I asked how he was doing this he said there is a command to enable it (but he couldn't remember). Is this true? If so, how come only certain people know about it? If not, how was he doing this?

Actually loial I can't see why people DON'T play on your server more often. The ping is good, and the maps are decent-great. Oh and my maps kinda suck lol, I do like badlands but theres never enough people and platforms and doors don't work well in paintball. Jit should have a list of approved maps and include them with the client. Then encourage admins to run those maps, or ones of equal or better quality (gameplay and asthetically). Maybe have "official servers" that need to meet certain requirements for connection type and map roation etc. Dunno, lotta work for one guy  :)

Could you please tell me why people tend to play on the servers with 100+s ping times instead of the servers with 20-60ms ping times (aka the better servers)? Also, I'm BEGGING the server admins to stop putting absolute crap in their map rotations! I'm no good mapper, but 90% of the maps that are currently in 90% of the servers' rotations are complete crap. I find myself wanting to play, then I'm extremely dissapointed when xbmap and blitz are the only maps available on active servers. Can I get some maps that have some darn substance?
