Bugs, Feature Requests, and Feedback / Re: Global Profile Statistics

Ah.  Is jitspoe the only developer?  Or is there a team that he can delegate some of this stuff to?

I see.  So the reason statistics haven't been implemented yet is the logs aren't in a conducive format for it?  It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to write a program to reformat them, so is the real problem making pb2 store them in a better format from the start?

Hmm...  that would be one way of doing it.  Kind of like personal stats, then, not stored in a central database?

Deleted?  I don't recall my other post being deleted...  I posted that I moved (restarted) it here because I thought this was the correct section, but I misunderstood that, so you can go ahead and delete this one if you want.  But I don't think the original was deleted.
The difference is that jitspoe wouldn't have to implement any sort of ranking system in this one, just a tracker.

I've seen a few similar requests, but most regard some sort of a rating system.  While that would be nice, I could also go for a system that just tracked simple statistics, like total kills, kills with each gun, number of deaths, etc.  If the system also kept track of accuracy, this would decrease much of the lining that ruins maps like shazam33, etc.  This has always seemed like the one feature that pb2 just should've have but hasn't.

yeah, I used the same pass for both.  it worked for the connection but not for the admin area.

I reserved a GT server for a 1v1.  The pass I set worked great for access, but I wasn't allowed to change the map and couldn't log in as admin.  What did I do wrong?

Thanks for all your responses!  I see that this headset is highly recommended by the majority of you: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2181214&body=REVIEWS
It looks like it would work very well.  But for some reason it's gotten a lot of negative reviews on tigerdirect.  People say it is uncomfortable, it doesn't last long, and the mic isn't great.  Should I assume that none of this has happened with any of you?  I'm just a little wary of buying a set that has as many negative reviews as positive...  just because I'm on a budget.
Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for the input.  I understand what you're saying.  Well, I went back and (keeping my budget in mind) looked at a few sturdier sets, and I've narrowed it down to these two.  Will either of these work?

Thanks for all the help.  So far the biggest thing keeping me from the clanning community has been my need for a mic.  I'm hoping to resolve that for good now.

Hmmm...  I never thought of that.  I just liked them because they had good reviews and the other ones I looked at weren't thought to be too comfortable.  What models would you recommend for good quality under $20, then?

Hey all

I'm in the process of buying a headset so that I can use vent/teamspeak.  I found these two on tigerdirect that both seem very good.  The problem is, this is my first headset, so the specs all look the same to me.  Would you guys mind having a look and telling me what one would be best to get?
Thanks.

Paintball 2 Discussion / A way to keep track of stats?
« on: February 20, 2008, 12:59:01 PM »
Hey

It's been a long time since I've been here.  Probably a release or two.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this has been addressed before, but is there a way/program to keep track of all the stats related to my global profile?  Thanks.
BTW, did the physics change in the newer versions of PB2?  For some reason it seems much easier to make longer jumps with this latest version than it did on the last one I played.

I found it!  Wine installs to ~<homefolder>/.wine/drive_c, so you can't get there easily by  browsing or searching.  It's all there.  Thanks for all the help!

Yeah, I tried that...  I figured that if I could find the demos, I could figure out where the game was actually installed, so I searched my entire hard drive (including the hidden files), and found no reference to "demo", "demos", or the file name of a demo.  I think it might have been complicated by the fact that I'm using wine...  but I can't find where wine installed it.

OK, here you are.  By the way, I found I don't have a "demos" folder, even though I was able to save and replay my own demos (though not others').  I think it might be because of the same problem.
The first is inside my maps dirictory, the second is inside my pball dir.  (there you can also see I have no demo folder...).

OK.  Can you guys view png's, or do I need to convert it to jpg (my default screen capture program saves as png's because I run linux)?
They're saved in myhomefolder/desktop/games/paintball2/pball/maps, and the game is installed to myhomefolder/desktop/games/paintball2.
I'll attach the pic when I know what format to put it in.

Nope.  I downloaded them one at a time as bsp's, and that's how I stored them in the maps folder.

Possibly, but I placed them in the same directory all the default maps were in, and I can't find any other maps folder or .bsp's on my PC.  That's the first thing I checked to make sure I didn't just post a stupid question.

None when I try to select from the list because they're just not listed.  When I try "map <downloaded map>" in the console, I get this:
Code: [Select]
can't find maps/<downloadedmap>.bsp
I just downloaded a map (from within the game), and it plays, but when I go to my maps folder, it's not there.  I've searched my hard drive for it, but I can't find it.  Maybe it has something to do with wine?  Does anyone know where wine stores the maps?
