So what is the clan scene like these days?  Worth a [CC] revival?

Gonna go with a hard no.

Since I don't have much money would an i5 suffice?
Would it be outdated in a year or so? I can always upgrade when needed

Depending what you want your rig for an i5 should be just fine.  Gaming will be most dependent on your gpu and ram so having a top of the line cpu is not absolutely important.  However, a lower end one could bottle neck your system as well.  Do some research to find a good middle ground for yourself to meet what you want to do with your rig.  Looking at preset builds on pcpartpicker and youtube could give you an idea of what you should be looking for within your price range.

As long as you get a fairly new generation cpu/hardware it should be fine for many years to come.  Computer hardware is constantly being updated so you might not have the latest and greatest in a year or two but it'll still run everything perfectly fine.  For instance, I built my gaming rig about 5 years ago at this point and am probably 2-3 generations of CPU behind the latest generation but I have zero issues running anything the "new" generation can run and really don't feel much of a performance hit either.  Just be sure to do your research and not make hasty decisions.

Pureblood, M&M, and comabull.  First clan I ever joined was MeMi, well before login system was added.  Learned a lot from those guys and looked up to them when I first started.  Later on some of the guys in CC, iJ, Starz, and er33t were some of the best players I played with and against and I looked up to them skill wise.  Finally all the guys in s2k, especially Henrod, Rick, Cameron, and Cam.  Met them near the end of my time playing and had so much fun in matches with them regardless of if we were winning or losing.

Pcpartpicker is a great site to help you get started in the right direction as far as premade builds in various price ranges.  /r/buildapc on reddit is also a great place to get information and help with picking parts and figuring out what would work for you.  Sourcing stuff in NZ might be a little rough as far as shipping costs go.  Do what Cameron suggested and see if you can find a pc parts store locally.  It's also easier to return parts that might be DOA if you buy from a local place rather than online.

Clans, Matches, and Tournaments / Re: Any Training Clans accepting?
« on: June 29, 2009, 05:46:04 PM »
the only other training clan i can think of is FarmStarz, not sure if they are recruiting or not.  And on the subject of the mic and voice recon.  Not having a mic is definately not a good reason for rejecting someone from the clan.  Sure voice recon is convenient, but considering your parent clan doesnt use voice recon it really isnt that important.

To the clans out there before you get 50-0'd by someone. The vague choke point is mid, so get there.

Too late for Ij...i think it was 50-4ish against er33t on our first time ever playing the map.  Magnet kept getting lost.  Great map, new spawns kept messing me up because I'm used to the original 2fort5 spawns.  Plus whats with the broken down wall that you cant get through to the two high side areas in mid.  Those two spots seem somewhat pointless seeing as how you can't get to the base through them.  Other than that, fun map, good pace.  Looking forward to playing it in PBCup

I think it would be better if it wasn't autocockers cause it would just turn into a line fest. I think Stingrays and even VM's might make it more fun

The game is based off of lines...both dp and real paintball.  Stingrays and Vm's would make the mode extremely slow and as you said, it takes a while to cap.  You aren't meant to cap every round.

Extremely obvious aimbotter considering the way he snapped onto people. And to ghostlol, regardless of how long you've played hacking is unforgivable.  Enjoy your ban

I'd say at least give them a normal ban and if they evade hit them up with some perm action.
+1 or make it a warning kinda system where firs ban is a warning, 2nd ban is perm

We are attempting to run steady tourny's every Saturday: Come to #Tournament_central and register your team today!

We still need a few helpers to help this tourny run smoothly: PM Reaver if you'd like to help out.

This is an action to better this game, and make it more fun for everyone. Getting everyone matching each other without worrying about records. Hope to see everyone try to join it.
