Hi everybody,

I might be offering European DP2 gameservers (16+ slots) for Teams/Players that want their own dedicated server, but do not have the time,money or experience to have their own root server.

3 days ago i recieved a pm on irc: "your servers have 60 seconds respawn times, taht sucks ;D"

I respondend that this would be the standart setting, and he responded something like:"oh really? didnt knew :D :D, 5 seconds are kewler :)".


Just wanted to prove eiii's point(s).

um, it's the short form (or rather the nickname) of the name "matthias", which would be "mathew" in english speaking countries.
Though, in germany it's not the name that is also used in the bible, that'd be matthäus. But whatever :P

To make it simple:
Matthew -> Matt
Matthias -> Matze.

If youre getting kicked for not being logged in it gives you a whole good explanation as of why (no account, need to register, www.dplogin.com - just in a good text form).

Since there are about 10.000 players now, I dont think it would hurt if about 10 people wouldn't stay because they didnt want to register, in fact they would have to register anyways sooner or later.

Those contra arguements are valid points and all.. but I think the positives are still more than the negatives and that's why i leave it at "2"

That statement might be correct, but if someone really wanted to hack, he'd try a new hack, wait for like 1-2 week(s) and would also know that those hacks he is using are undetactable.

Of course I don't know about technical problems ;)

All ch1ll servers are now set to sv_login 2 so everbody has actually to be logged in in order to join a server.

I already had that enabled on the match servers for about one and a half week now, but judging by the high ID numbers of the database, everybody seems to have a registered account and knows how to use it, so I went ahead and enabled it on the public servers, too.

Jitspoe also said that would make cheat detections/identifications alot easier, so thats another good side effect.

I'm making this post in hope that some other server owners will enable that option on all their servers, too.

There is nearly no negative thing about it, the only thing i could think of that you couldn't play aliased on pubs anymore because you might care if you'd play with your real name and didn't play that good.

That site is a modified php clan-script.What i could do is creating a pickup section on the site. That way you wouldn't  have to create a new one. example: http://www.ch1ll.de/index.php?pickup

I could create a subdomain to that site like pickup.ch1ll.de (xtremebain could do a ch1ll.com subdomain aswell), or could have any other url linking to that site.

Would be an easy and simple solution. It's up to you ;)

I think B/trainee squads are a very good thing to do and might be an important step into moving two "splitted" communities into one. Right now there are about 5 B squads, which should be a total amount of 25-35 people. If only those were integrated into irc and the matching scene, that'd be a good thing.

Seems like there are like 4-5 people having the same idea to get more newer palyers into the matching scene without letting them in to the "real team". I'm also one of them ;)

The only reason I didn't start on doing that cause i wasn't sure if it was allowed to creanate anpther clan, even though it would be handled as a squad. I PMed jitspoe abput that on IRC but didn'T get an answere yet :P

So, is it a legit thing to do?

Right, every hacker that gets caught will try to get there ban removed and jitspoe would have to lift them, too, in order to be fair to all players/first attempters/hacker ect..

Doesn't sound like a cool thing to do, does it?

Open up your console and type    bind <key> "cmd id"      . you then are able to push the key you binded "cmd id" to and it does the same as typing "cmd id" manually into the console.

I'm 100% positiv that such a high ping is not caused by those builds or any other paintball related reason: You must either be uploading/downloading or something is falsely set up with your internet/wireless connection, or your sharing a network with someone that is doing one of the points mentioned above.

Well yea that's kind of true. The default unedited template had like 30 links which noone really needed. We have tried to reduce that to what people relly would like to know or what in any way could help them. (Though we have also added new ones, mostly the server info pages. )

What's so crowded on there? It's a normal clan website. It also isn't loading slowly for me, but that might vary form time to time ;).

I appreciate every team's effort to create and update a website. Well done!

edit: right now it takes a while until the webserver responds. If you want to leave that free hosting webspace I'm sure you'll find someone giving you some real hosting (smokey? ;) ) . I might could help you out as well.
