Ask Zenit directly without having to unnecessarily involve jitspoe in a first measure.

Personal informations you post on youtube are accessible to everyone with an internet connexion, i'd suggest you to modify it if you find it troublesome, it's in the chart when you make a youtube account. In no case it is a security breach.

to that i can suggest you to never be ashamed of who you are so that somebody using your shared informations on internet have no power over you.

From the screenshots you've provided there is maps we can promote and maps we canno't as they are not always the best option gameplaywise. Don't you see how directly related the topics are ?

FYI I did promote few HD versions for last tournaments but it's not always accepted for the reasons above hence why it's important for HD remakes to fits some criterias IMO.

do you think botanic_b1 looks good? Same for azur and brokendojo (broken has too high wpoly too). All are blocky maps that are lookwise not that great compared to other maps.

to answer your question, no i don't think either botanic, azur or brokendojo looks good. Mapping takes time and trials, probably any decent mapper went through phases of producing lots of first maps which weren't great, but they slowly progressed. I'm not sure what you are trying to tell with that quote:

Because i also disagree with what is said in there and i don't see the link between what is said in the quote and the map comparison you made.

Concerning the overwrite of map-names i also strongly disapprove the usage and will tell any server hoster that i know to absolutely not do it.
We have many maps that are better than their remake version and that's enough reason to never overwrite any map. If you are a server hoster and you overwrite map names, you are making a big mistake. Just making this clear.

What i am approving in this post is the promotion of map remakes. As long as it's done fair & square:

- Diff namefile
- Almost no change to gameplay
- Better looking

I'm all for it.

I agree with the idea of pushing people to play HD remake like crates_hd, sandtrap_hd_b1, blitz_b2e1. they are enormous improvement but we need to make sure gameplay is as close as it can get.

- crates_hd is already better looking than the original.

- sandtrap_hd_b1 require a bit of rework to make it as close gameplay-wise as original gameplaywise but the look is a good improvement.

- blitz_b2e1 is already better, just need to make sure those wooden support for fences in the middle of the map is walkable through, make it a mist or something.

- wob_sew_whoa Yes it defenitely looks more natural and doesn't impact gameplay in comparison of toolwul's wobluda suggestion. Make sure those light are a mist and won't impact gameplay because people oftenly tends to go on those spot to be off-angle when there are sewer duels. (reworked sewer is not enough to make an HD version of the map IMO, would have to work on the rest of the map too)

- daylight remake looks very dope, would have to work on lowering the wpolys if anyone is willing to spend time for it and then i'd fully support it. Visual improvement is possible without impacting too much the performances, it's just bad mapping at this point.

- whoa's italy remake looks insane, i'd very love to see it having an HD version with the closest gameplay as original, how is the progression ?

I'd like to add, reworking a map require the approving of the original mapper, if you are ever to release an HD version of an existing map, make sure you have their approvements, keep in mind that gameplay is the key point, and then the look comes after.

Both of your remake are good looking. While jistpoe's remake has a more natural touch, myers's is exactly the same as original.

that being said gameplaywise:

- myers's has exactly same gameplay as original

- jitspoe's has those annoying wooden window supports on which you get stuck same as for the wooden fence supports.

I would prefer jitspoe's remake for the natural look of his remake but gameplay-wise right now those wooden supports inside windows & the wooden fence supports are annoying.

Personally for a paintball game that has fast paced movements i like the actual state of the game concerning Weapons firerates.

I'd like to have a slight increase in the dropping/boucing off effect of bullets past certain height & distances but it's not really game breaking mechanic.

I don't want any changes concerning the weapons fire rates. We played a bit on your NA server with 2710 ball_speed and i think i prefered it over the default ball_speed as you could hit shots on longer distances & get rewarded for longer shots but it's not like a super game breaking change.

I'm totally FOR the use of different texture packs. Personally i would love switching over cartoon-ish textures and i understand some textures would obviously give an advantage over others but as long as it's no solid uniform colour i personally don't care.

My opinion aside i think there is some down sides:

1) Competitive-wise you want everyone to fight with the same tools

2) There is only one official texture pack so far and it's already a witch-hunt every time somebody is using a different texture. (it would only increase the number of DM Jitspoe recieve concerning somebody using diff. textures)

Concerning the map list,  litt is a map that isn't even played and should be replaced with for exemple: (pbcup_sassault, g2_b2, shazam22, sassault4_b3, prolandr...) or even something else as long as its not a map nobody plays.

Your objective concerning the map elimination process was to shorten it up and make it clearer and i don't think you achieved that. I suggest you take in considerations from the discussion there was on the DP2 discord server.

As Mission mentioned we are only using Wins & losses on the scoreboard. You don't have to complicate things off and should just go with 1 pts for a victory & 0 for a defeat. Whether you reward 2 or 1 pts for  the victory doesn't change anything, go back to 1 and make it simple. 

And last but not least, i don't get either why trash-talk is welcomed ? I assume it is a wrong translation or you worded it wrong ? Being respectful is a quality, trash-talking on the other hand imply that you need to resort to something else than in-game means and therefore it displays weakness IMO. We have really bad examples from DP2 players but it's not a reason to encourage it.

I'd prefer the format with the less waiting time and the more matches. The " league" type of tournament in which each teams faces one time would probably the one filling those criteria.

Concerning the map list it was pretty much the most basic maps you could get in matches and our team played 4 different maps out of the 4 maps we had to play. Perhaps the big flaw you mentioned concerning the maps were rather the map elimination choices of certain teams ? The map list will always be criticized anyways, i'm down with a change of pace but if there is 9 different maps and it turn out you only play 1 map in all of your matches, problem isn't the map list.

And last, for whether a game should last in between 10 or 20 minutes, reducing the length to 10minutes is better for teams that finishes their matches faster so they don't have to wait extra time.

The layout improvement is really good for bases & caves. Excellent job for that.

I really like the barrels & crystal looking things you made & of course the beautiful night sky but i still think there is few downsides to the map.

- The sideways with ice that totally skip the middle part (https://www.pixenli.com/image/_n965ECk) (I think your sideways should be shortened and go through mid earlier)

- the Middle part itself. I feel like the volcano is there to fill the open space and it's not walk-able on/through unless you have a decent amount of speed which make the middle part feels pretty restricted ( I think lowering the size of the volcano perhaps and building more covers ? not sure )

But overall, definitely an improvements looking at older versions.

Beta 8 Changes:

- Improperly set textures: Fixed.
- Reduced the r_speeds (wpoly's) by 1/3rd on the entire map.
- Restructured the rar.file: Done
- Removed the gift in the open area.

@jitspoe As for the lighting of the painting, may i ask you how should i proceed to reduce it ? ( I was thinking of adding the following specific to the paintings brushes: _sun_light value to half of the sun_light i use in the worldspawn ? but i am not sure if it is the correct way of doing so.)

I don't think i'll be able to lower the r_speeds more than that and i'm not willing to sacrifice the middle ramp neither the base coloured windows as i feel those are part of the map. Unless people have tips to share !

I understand your point but whats the meaning of being able to shot and visually see my bullets going that far if its not to hit ? Perhaps the balancing of speed & range should be adjusted to less range but same speed if you don't want it to be overpowered. I would still be satisfied with the bouncing-off effect being removed and you would accurately see the range of which your actual bullets goes & canno't reach than being frustrated.

Hello, I've Been working on a map recently, gonna share it.
I'm not a great mapper, got about a hundred hours into mapping and most of it being figuring how editors works but i'm pretty satisfied with this one. It's pretty simple and open space.
