It is nice to know how to fix, but the odds are the problems will come back.  Your hard drive is probably dying and a new one would just save you the hassle of having it crash again.

You should probably buy a new hard drive while you're at it.  Something similar to this happened to my computer last year.  After I fixed it the problems just came back and data started being corrupted or lost. Eventually I couldn't even use the hard drive.  New hard drive was the solution.  Save yourself the time of losing everything again and replace it.

It's a pain having to answer ignorant people all the time about things they aren't meant to do, yet still act like they should have all the rights to change the game to their liking.

Ignorant? excuse me but I believe your the one who can't understand simple English in what I was trying to explain.  I don't see how me reverting to old sounds is anywhere near changing models.  Not to mention I've been able to do it for the years I've been playing.  Now all of a sudden it's a problem?  My logic is, if people can use old models they should be able to use old sounds.  Maybe I should repeat that to make sure you understand it clearly.  My logic is, if people can use old models they should be able to use old sounds.  I'm sorry if you are too stupid to understand anything that a non 12 year old has to say.  I also believe I specifically asked for you to not post on this.  Once again your power hungry self has to get involved in things that you don't belong in.  I know that position in a committee over about 100-200 people helps you get off at night, but maybe you should actually do something productive and show respect to the community.  I asked a question and you come on bashing me for no reason.  No wonder this community is crap.  People like you troll the forums looking for any little thing to harass people about.

No one else post useless crap on this.  I only want to hear Jitspoe's response and not a bunch of ignorant know-it-all retards.

How do you get me wanting to change content?  I've BEEN replacing new sounds with the old build 16 sounds for years just like many other people because I like them better.

I had no problems just swapping out the gun sounds, but the new step sounds are by surface.  I can't stand them, so I individually over wrote all the surface sounds with the old build 16 sounds.  Now they are just like build 16 steps.  I'm not modding anything I'm just reverting to older sounds.  I don't get how using older gun sounds is ok, but the foot step sounds are a big deal.  If people can use old models to revert them to older builds I think the old sounds should be perfectly legal.  Also there isn't a specific hr4 pack so people can use any textures they want, but I can't use older sounds.

I've always been able to use the older sounds.  Now all of a sudden it's a problem.  If there isn't a standard hr4 pack and people can change them, then I should be able to use the sounds I want.

So I got the build 16 sounds since I can't stand the newer ones.  Renamed all the different surface sounds so they are all the same.  Now I get the modded content warning.  If the old sounds are a crime I don't wanna play this crap.

Yes the Windows Areo themes are based in DirectX 10.  The basic are probably DirectX 9.

Yes Windows 7 can use directx9, but it is set by default to use 10 or higher.  His netbook probably can't handle that.

You do realize XP is directx 9 and Win7 is directx 10 and 11.  Your video card probably can't handle directx 10.  I'm sure there is a way to force DX9, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it.

Did you happen to change your screen resolution when you installed Windows 7?  If you increased it you could see a drop in video performance.

@battle - How can you not like Windows 7?  It's has all the bells and whistles like Vista, only runs like XP.  It does require more powerful computers to run it, but if your computer can handle it, it runs like a beast.

I'm pretty sure the "stop" command is client side.

If it would be possible, maybe have the server record demos and then upload them to web space somewhere automatically.  Then periodically delete old demos (maybe monthly) to keep the space down.

That sucks, I guess if you can attach it again it might work.  I guess it's good to experiment and learn with an out of production card rather than a $250 one.

What brand exactly is the card?  I know some of the major gaming brands such as XFX, EVGA, and BFG usually offer pretty good warranties.  I know my XFX cards are covered under a lifetime warranty which even covers damage I might do from overclocking.

You must almost no cooling at all.  My computer has a front intake, side intake, and rear exhaust fans.  My 2 8600GTXXX's don't really have any heat issues unless it's really warm in my room.

If your card is damaged from over heating you can try baking it in your oven at 315 for like 5-10 min.  My friend did that with his 8800GTX and it fixed it.

I also don't really consider an 8600GT "beefy" compared to today's standards.

and im willing to bet that any other ACTIVE member of ij will say that they were given the models by br55hit. and that Clown and Warhead will probably be the only ones to deny it.

Who else is in Ij that isn't banned? LOL FAIL!

Lets take a step back to see how this looks.  Kids raged from getting kicked from Ij are saying someone in Ij gave them hacks.  THAT'S SOME MAD PROOF DUDE!

How about some legit IRC logs.
