You're on a list of the best 3D Linux Games, and it's on the front page of digg.

Okiedokie. Not sure what you meant about me download b19 again, since I uninstalled paintball2 before. I really don't mind though, I'm happy with a little pubbing while "bug" is off drinking champagne and gallavanting with hot MILFs.

If you want to global ban me, go ahead. I told you what I knew and, like I said, I only came back to play a few quick games anyway.

bug: yes, it sounds familiar, considering it's my name...

I doubt jitspoe has enough free time to waste on something so out of the ordinary, so I think I'll just leave it be for now and host the server on another box.

Thanks for all your help, and the very informative description of the problem! :D

You get a muffin! (with hair)

Incredibly old. This is a piece of crap that I got for free, being the "family computer guy." I wiped everything on it and retooled it for a testing server on some of my PHP work.

Thank you for the reset, jitspoe! Now I remember why I got so mad at whoever registered bug before me once the login system came out. Talk about spite. :\

Server Discussion / Starting paintball2 on Linux
« on: November 20, 2007, 11:01:32 PM »
Distro: Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 Server

I've setup a pretty minimalist server configuration, and when I try to run paintball2 from console, I get the following:

Code: [Select]
james@ubuntu-server:~/paintball2$ ./paintball2 +set dedicated 1 +set public 1 +exec server.cfg +map siegecastle

Paintball 2 -- Version 2.0
Illegal instruction

Doesn't matter what arguments I give paintball2, it always dies with that.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Eh, if you really need it I can download some mappacks and put it them up on one of my other servers. And thanks, I doubt I'll be very active on the forums, but I wanted a nice multiplayer shooter game to wile away some free time and I remembered DP. :D

Oh man, what a piece of crap that was... I remember I gave someone (TinMan?) the password to the dajoob account I had it on, but I don't know if it's still around.

Ok, thank you. It's probably a non-issue once I figured out that I could've just clicked "cancel" to play a few quick games. Whoops.

Help and Support / Password recovery for global login accounts
« on: November 19, 2007, 08:27:33 PM »
I downloaded build 19 for a few quick games and ran across the global login... I tried to create an account, but apparently I already made one in times past, since my email account is already in use. I tried my normal passwords for what I assume is my account ("bug") but none of them work. Is there some sort of password recovery / click this link an email / et cetera that I can use?

Bugs, Feature Requests, and Feedback / Re: Build 17 "pre-test"
« on: March 05, 2007, 07:01:25 PM »
jitspoe: I don't think you understood me, I am quite aware of how the security system works, but I'm just saying that some less knowledgeable users might be confused when their 6 letter password suddenly becomes 40 characters. What I was saying is that I think you should just leave the box blank instead of placing the hash there.

1. Upon loading it will stop the sound from any music I have playing and, even though VLC is still happily chugging along, I still can't hear anything until I close it and open it again. My bad. I didn't see "Disable External Sound."

2. Upon going to Setup->Global Login Profile, the password box has a much longer string than what my password actually is, so I assume it's the SHA1 hash. Wouldn't it be easier to just leave the box blank?

I think it's rather pointless in a forum with content matter such as this one. It's obvious its going to be abused, and frankly it has no purpose in the first place.
