toggle console command
« on: August 22, 2005, 04:46:34 AM »
what is the command to close the console?

the problem comes with build15 and the different keyboard support:  now many people complain about haveing to press "Shift+`" to toggle the console.  I have found out that you can bind a key to OPEN the console, but its not working for closing it:  "bind x toggleconsole", although it says "toggle".
So what would be the correct command to close the console? :)

Just out of curiosity, what key do you have just under the ESC key with your layout?  Or what key used to bring down the console?

well, the "^" key used to toggle the console. To toggle means to turn it on AND off.  ESC opens the main menu for me...

The ^ key is to the left of 1 and below ESC?

Doesn't work in firefox, but yes, that's useful.  I'll work on better foreign keybord support for build 16.  I can probably just hardcode the ~ key (^ on german keyboards) to be toggle console, regardless of the layout.

This would make everything more simple again :D

/edit: Can't you already do this for build 15 testversion 2, or what ever?
