problems and questions playing game

I created a server, I log into play I hit the tab key to see which teams my friends are on I get blank screen. When I am chasing my team mates (they afre either real people or bots) there name doesn't appear when the crosshairs are on them & when I try to chat (team or all) my name comes up as Acebot_7. Yes I do have bots in the game, but my name doesn't appear anywhere. And yes I am logged into DPLogin, & I did log in when the screen promps me to.

Sounds like something got goofed up with your configuration, maybe.  Could you record a demo or take some screenshots?

here is a screen shot when i hit tab to see players i see no one. when i move crosshairs over a player i see nothing. when i type to talk i come u as ACEBOT_7.  there is 5 bots, 1 player & myself on my server at this time of pic

Wow are you running Windows 98 or even 95 because that desktop looks like it?

He is running Vista, as you can see by the Start menu icon, folder icon, shortcut icons, and a few other things.

I had this happen to me a bunch at school last year.  Think it was a server issue where it thought the connected client was running the Quake mod instead of the stand alone version.  Or something to that effect.

actually it is Windows Vista, every now & then then names pop up, guess ill just have to deal with it

No you dont have to deal with it, I'm sure somone can help you.
I dont know much but try reinstalling.

First, delete paintball2/ace/bots*.tmp, then delete paintball2/pball/configs/config.cfg.  Then start the game up on a standard map without bots or play online.  See if things work out better.
