It's very valid idea, but I would also propose including information about GLS and forum in tutorial, and then making simple to use GUI for GLS (current one isn't that bad, but it confuses people, maybe tutorial on it would be enough).
And if your name will be changed, then inform player about this (with big flashing message, they only get it that way), so they actually notice this.
First things first I would say this should be done, but after actually making wiki and finishing tutorial, as those would probably help anyone that looks inside.
