passwords?

hey sry guys if this question has already been answered but..


i was jw if i start a new game (LAN) at school and set a password on the game, how do my friends that know the password join? do they just type it in or what?

(yes i kno im a noob)

maybe this isn't what the best way is but what i do is when it says connection refused bad password, i type "password whateveryourpasswordishere" without the quotes
